Russia’s COVID-19 Cases Top 630,000

MOSCOW, June 29 (NNN-TASS) – Russia confirmed 6,791 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, raising its total number of infections to 634,437, its coronavirus response centre said, in a statement Sunday.

The death toll grew by 104 to 9,073, while 399,087 people have so far recovered, including 5,735 over the last 24 hours, according to the statement.

Moscow, the country’s worst-hit region, reported 717 new cases, taking its tally of infections to 220,071.

Global COVID-19 Deaths Surpass 500,000

NEW YORK, June 29 (NNN-AGENCIES) – Global COVID-19 deaths surpassed 500,000 on Sunday, reaching 500,108, as of 4:33 p.m. (2033 GMT), according to the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE), at Johns Hopkins University.

Meanwhile, the total COVID-19 cases around the world rose to 10,063,319, according to the CSSE.

The United States reported the most COVID-19 cases and deaths, standing at 2,539,544 and 125,747, respectively.

Other countries with over 20,000 fatalities include Brazil, Britain, Italy, France, Spain and Mexico.

Routine Iran-UAE flights resume

Tehran, June 27, IRNA - Flights between Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) returned to normal, Iran's Embassy in Abu Dhabi announced on Saturday.

Iranian airlines can directly make their demands and receive permission from the UAE, the Embassy said through a statement.

After following-up measures taken by the Iranian Embassy, permission has been given to fly Dubai to operate flights from Iran to UAE.

Passengers should see https://smartservices.ica.gov.ae to get coronavirus test before flying, according to Iranian Embassy.

Rouhani: US sanctions, coronavirus make for Iran's toughest year

India: BJP MLA in UP tests positive for coronavirus infection

Sultanpur, Jun 27 (PTI) BJP MLA Devmani Dwivedi has tested positive for coronavirus infection, his family members said on Saturday.

Dwivedi represents Lambhua assembly constituency of Sultanpur district.

"A few days back, Dwivedi's health had deteriorated and he was admitted to a hospital in Sadar area of Lucknow. The doctors suggested him to undertake COVID-19 test. The test was conducted, and he tested positive for COVID-19. He has been shifted to KGMU for treatment," Dwivedi's brother Chintamani said.

India: Former Gujarat CM tests positive for coronavirus

Ahmedabad, Jun 28 (PTI) A former chief minister of Gujarat has tested positive for coronavirus, his aide said on Sunday.

He was suffering from fever for last three-four days and was quarantined at his home in Gandhinagar under doctor's guidance, he said.

"He tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday and was shifted to a private hospital on Sunday morning on the advice of his doctor," the aide said.

India adds nearly 20,000 cases, highest single-day spike

New Delhi, June 28 (PTI) India recorded close to 20,000 COVID-19 cases in a single day for the first time on Sunday, taking the tally to 5,28,859, while the death toll rose to16,095, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The data updated at 8 am showed 19,906 new cases, while 410 persons succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.

This is the fifth consecutive day that coronavirus infections have increased by more than 15,000. The country saw a surge of 3,38,324 infections from June 1 till date.

Israel’s Youngest COVID-19 Victim Dies At Age 19

JERUSALEM, June 28 (NNN-MA’AN) – A 19-year-old woman died of COVID-19 on Saturday, becoming the youngest victim of the virus in Israel.

The patient suffered from many other severe diseases, including pulmonary hypertension and heart failure, with extreme overweight, causing movement difficulty, said Hadassah Medical Centre in Jerusalem.

The patient was infected with a massive viral load, and when admitted to the hospital, she immediately needed ventilation.
