30 Sep 2022; MEMO: The Israeli Central Elections Committee yesterday approved a motion to ban the National Democratic Assembly (Balad) from running in the upcoming Knesset elections.

The committee voted with nine ballots being placed to ban the party and five against the motion. The committee accuses Balad, led by MK Sami Abu Shehadeh, is "undermining Israel as a Jewish and democratic state" and "incitement to racism".

29 Sep 2022; MEMO: The Israeli army has green lighted the use of armed drones to carry out assassinations against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, Israeli media reported on Thursday, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Army Chief, Aviv Kochavi, gave his approval to use the armed drones for assassinations and "to carry out strikes should armed gunmen be identified as posing imminent threats to the troops," reported The Jerusalem Post.

27 Sep 2022; MEMO: Israeli authorities asked settlers to carry arms during the festive period that began yesterday, local TV channel Kan reported on Sunday.

According to the national broadcaster, authorities recommended that Jewish worshippers carry personal weapons during the Jewish holidays and while in places of worship.

28 Sep 2022; MEMO: The US branch of the Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit Systems has confirmed that it was hacked in early June, according to America's TechCrunch newspaper.

The Texas-based company said the breach occurred on 8 June and that 369 people were affected.

An alert sent out to impacted customers by a law firm on behalf of Elbit said it discovered the breach after noticing unusual activity on its network, which was immediately shut down to secure the environment.

23 Sep 2022; MEMO: The Israeli Foreign Ministry summoned the Mexican Ambassador in Jerusalem for a reprimand, after protesters gathered Thursday in front of the Israeli Embassy in Mexico City and vandalised its premises.

"We view the issue very gravely. We expect that Mexico will fulfil its international obligations,"

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman, Emmanuel Nahshon, said, according to Times of Israel.

23 Sep 2022; MEMO: The Israeli Supreme Court approved on Thursday the appeal filed by the defence committee for Palestinian citizen of Israel, Sheikh Yousef Al-Baz, 64, from the city of Lod and ordered to place him under restrictive conditions.

The Supreme Court returned Al-Baz's case file to the Israeli District Court in Lod to determine the conditions for his release by electronic registration.

On 10 August, the Lod District Court extended Sheikh Al-Baz's detention until the completion of judicial procedures against him.

23 Sep 2022; MEMO: Israel's official Army Radio yesterday said there was a "noticeable" increase in Iranian cyber attacks targeting Israel's infrastructure.

The radio station quoted military officials as saying that the attacks had increased by "70 per cent."

The Israeli occupation witnessed several cyber attacks in recent months on their airports, civilian and military resources, for which they hold Tehran accountable for.

22 Sep 2022; MEMO: Benjamin Netanyahu accused Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid yesterday of surrendering to threats made by Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah concerning the disputed Karish gas field in the Mediterranean Sea.

"Lapid totally folded in the face of Nasrallah's threats," said the Israeli opposition leader on Twitter. "He wants to hand over the gas to Lebanon, a gas field worth billions of dollars." Netanyahu claimed that Nasrallah will sell the gas and buy rockets.

JERUSALEM (AP) — The head of the International Olympic Committee apologized Wednesday for the organization’s longtime failure to commemorate 11 Israeli athletes killed by Palestinian militants at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Thomas Bach spoke at a ceremony in Tel Aviv marking the 50th anniversary of the deadly attack on the Munich Olympics, two weeks after Germany’s president apologized at a memorial ceremony in Germany for his country’s failures before, during, and after the attack.
