Israel made concessions to Lebanon amid border dispute

20 Sep 2022; MEMO: A former Israeli military official said, Tuesday, that Tel Aviv had made "concessions" to Lebanon for reaching an agreement to demarcate their maritime border to avoid an escalation, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Amos Yadlin, the former Head of the Israeli Military Intelligence Division, said Israel was showing flexibility regarding the disputed maritime border with its neighbour.

"We do not want Gaza in Lebanon, Israel does not want Lebanon to drown," he told Israeli radio 103FM.

Israel To Begin Production At Disputed Gas Field “ASAP”

JERUSALEM, Sept 20 (NNN-XINHUA) – Israel announced yesterday, it will start to produce natural gas from a disputed Mediterranean maritime field, “as soon as possible,” despite U.S.-brokered border demarcation talks between Israel and Lebanon.

“The production of gas from the Karish rig will commence without delay, as soon as it is possible,” Israeli Prime Minister, Yair Lapid’s office said in a statement, adding, the production “is not connected to the negotiations (with Lebanon).”

German Chancellor Ulf Schulz had sought during his visit to Israel six months ago to purchase Israeli missiles, which is developed in coordination with the US and with US funding.

Israel extends administrative detention of female Palestinian journalist for third time

20 Sep 2022; MEMO: Israeli occupation authorities yesterday extended the administrative detention of female Palestinian journalist, Bushra Al-Taweel, for the third time in a row, for a period of three months.

Twenty-nine-year-old Al-Taweel, a resident of the city of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank, was arrested on 21 March at the Zatara military checkpoint, south of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank.

15 Sep 2022; MEMO: Israel's internal security agency, Shin Bet, has recommended closing some cities and towns in the northern occupied West Bank, Israeli media reported yesterday.

The Shin Bet's recommendation included the closure on the Jenin area where the security situation is "getting out of control," according to a security official who was quoted in the Jerusalem Post.
