JERUSALEM (AP) — The Israeli military said that Palestinian gunmen opened fire on a bus in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, wounding six soldiers, one of them seriously, and a civilian.

The Magen David Adom paramedic service said two people who suffered gunshot wounds were airlifted by helicopter to a hospital in Haifa.

The Israeli military said it apprehended two Palestinians suspected of carrying out the midday attack on a main West Bank highway.

03 September 2022; MEMO: The Israeli Beersheba District Court yesterday rejected an appeal to remove the "terrorism" classification under which Palestinian prisoner Ahmad Manasra is being held, in spite of the fact that he was detained at the age of 13 in a brutal manner, violently interrogated without an adult or lawyer present and then held in jail even though he did not carry out a crime.

02 September 2022; MEMO: Israel will purchase four Boeing KC-46A refuelers for its air force, in a deal valued at $927.5 million, the Israeli government and a US defence contractor announced yesterday.

First deliveries of the aircraft, which will replace Israel's ageing fleet of Re'em Boeing 707 tankers, are expected to roll out in 2025.

03 September 2022; MEMO: A 40-year-old Palestinian prisoner has died in an Israeli hospital in yet unclear circumstances, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) announced on Saturday morning.

In a statement, the PPS said that Mousa Abu Mahameed, from the Bethlehem village of Beit Tamar, died this morning at Asaf Harofeh hospital in Israel.

03 September 2022; MEMO: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas on Friday condemned the Israeli government for allowing the organisation of a series of concerts at Beersheba Great Mosque.

In a statement, Hamas expressed: "We condemn with the strongest terms the Israeli occupation's agreement to hold a series of concerts and festivals at Beersheba Great Mosque."

01 September 2022; MEMO: The Beersheba district court in southern Israel on Tuesday sentenced former Palestinian aid worker with World Vision to 12 years in prison on allegations of "financing terrorism".

Mohammed El-Halabi's lawyer, Maher Hana, said that he would appeal the conviction to the Supreme Court as much of the evidence against him was kept secret, with Israel citing "security concerns", prompting his legal team to question the verdict's legitimacy.

01 September 2022; MEMO: The Israeli Supreme Court of Justice today rejected the appeal of the Jewish-Israeli terrorist, serving three life sentences for the murder of 18-month-old baby Ali Dawabsheh and his parents, Saad and Riham in 2015.

According to Haaretz, the judges in the case unanimously rejected Amiram Ben-Uliel's claim that he was interrogated under torture by the Shin Bet, and that his subsequent confessions and reconstruction were therefore illegal.

02 September 2022; MEMO: Palestinian prisoners have suspended a mass hunger strike scheduled to start yesterday after the Israeli prison administration accepted their demands to reverse punitive measures imposed against them for months, the Supreme National Emergency Committee of the National Captive Movement, which manages the prisoners' protests, said in a statement.

JERUSALEM (AP) — A Palestinian detainee held without charge or trial by Israel said Wednesday that he will suspend his nearly six-month hunger strike after reaching an agreement that will see him released in October.

Lawyers and physicians have warned that the Khalil Awawdeh, a 40-year-old father of four, was at risk of dying and already suffering neurological damage from the prolonged hunger strike. In recent pictures, he resembles a human skeleton, his skin tightly stretched over a bony frame.

30 August 2022; MEMO: A Palestinian woman has been arrested by Israeli police on the day of her wedding, while still wearing her bridal dress, according to her lawyer.

Shadi Thabbah told local media that his client, who was not named, was detained and led away by Israeli police for questioning, after the wedding was raided in the predominantly Arab city of Arrabat Al-Battuf in northern Israel.
