Palestinian PM Criticises Britain’s Intention To Move Embassy To Jerusalem

RAMALLAH, Oct 4 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Ishtaye, said yesterday Britain’s intention to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem “is a violation of international law.”

Moving the British embassy to Jerusalem “will harm bilateral relations with Palestine and the Arab and Islamic countries, and remove Britain from any future international endeavours, to reach a solution that ends the conflict in Palestine,” Ishtaye said at a weekly meeting of cabinet.

Israeli forces kill 2 young Palestinians in occupied West Bank

3 October 2022; MEMO: Israel's occupation forces raided the Jalazone refugee camp in the occupied West Bank today and fired at least 30 bullets at three young Palestinians in their vehicle, Wafa has reported. Two of the Palestinians were killed, while the third was wounded.

The two dead men were named as Basel Basbous, 19, and Khaled Anbar, 22, both residents of Jalazone. The man who was wounded was named as Rafat Habash, 19, from Beir Zeit. All three were reported to be construction workers.

Palestine Urged Europe To Tie Relations With Israel To Extent Of Israeli Commitment To Int’l Law

RAMALLAH, Oct 3 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestine yesterday urged the European countries, to tie their relations with Israel, to its adherence to international law, UN resolutions, and human rights principles.

The international community “is required to hold Israel directly responsible for the escalation in the West Bank, against the Palestinians, and to put real pressure on it to stop it immediately,” the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

PLO Warns Of Settlement Expansion Ahead Of Upcoming Israeli Elections

RAMALLAH, Oct 2 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO), yesterday warned that, the Israeli settlement construction took “centre stage,” in the electoral campaigns of the right-wing and extreme-right parties in Israel.

In a special report, the PLO’s National Bureau for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements said, the Palestinians view the approval of new settlement plans or the legalisation of existing outposts as new settlements “as an attempt to win the votes of settlers through the absolute exploitation of the stakeholders.”

Three Palestinians Killed In West Bank Clashes: Medics

RAMALLAH, Sept 29 (NNN-XINHUA) – Three Palestinians were killed and 10 others injured yesterday, during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, Palestinian medics and eyewitnesses said.

Of the injured, two were in critical condition, said the Palestinian Ministry of Health in a press statement.

Palestinian eyewitnesses said that, the regime forces, backed by armoured vehicles, stormed the city and its refugee camp, amid the intensive fire of live ammunition and tear gas canisters in all directions.

Israel lifts ban on sale of Gaza fish in West Bank

29 Sep 2022; MEMO: Palestinian fishermen in Gaza have started to send fish to the occupied West Bank, after Israel lifted the fishing ban recently.The ban on fishing and selling fish had been in place for about one and a half months, since Israel's last attack on Gaza on 5 August. Although the ban was lifted, the amount of fish being exported was limited to 13 tonnes, from 100 tonnes before the Israeli aggression. While exports can now only take place once a week, down from two previously.

Palestinians start general strike after another Israeli raid in Jenin

29 Sep 2022; MEMO: Palestinians have launched a full-day general strike in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin in an act of mourning for the four Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation forces yesterday, Wafa news agency has reported. Shops and schools have shut down across the city since the Israeli military raid on Jenin refugee camp which began with dozens of military vehicles entering the camp on Wednesday morning.

Israeli raid leaves 4 Palestinians dead in West Bank camp

JENIN REFUGEE CAMP, West Bank (AP) — At least four Palestinians were killed and 44 wounded during an Israeli military raid Wednesday into the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported, marking the deadliest episode since Israel escalated a crackdown on the occupied territory earlier this year.

Palestinian PM Urged Israeli Leader To Prove Support For Two-State Solution

RAMALLAH, Sept 27 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Ishtaye, yesterday urged his Israeli counterpart, Yair Lapid, to prove his support for the two-state solution, by stopping settlement building and ending the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.

“Whoever claims to believe in the two-state solution must stop settlements, lift the siege on Gaza, open Jerusalem and stop the settlers’ repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, which have reached their climax today,” Ishtaye said, during the weekly cabinet meeting, according to an official statement.
