Delhi has won battle against dengue: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Nov 10 (PTI) Less than 1100 cases of dengue and no deaths due to the mosquito-borne disease have been reported so far this year in the city, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday.

In a video message posted on Twitter, he said this was an achievement in comparison to 2015 when over 15,000 dengue cases had been recorded and 60 people had died in the national capital.

Kejriwal lauded residents' efforts in following the '10-hafte, 10-baje, 10-minute' campaign launched by him on September 1.

New Delhi; 9 Nov 2019; GANASHAKTI: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday expressed his dissatisfaction over the Supreme Court judgement on Ayodhya land dispute case calling the court ruling discriminatory against Muslisms. He added that the Supreme Court verdict is final but not infalliable. "The Supreme Court is supreme but not infallible. I am not satisfied with the order," he said while addressing a press conference today.

New Delhi, Nov 9 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board's Zafaryab Jilani on Saturday expressed dissatisfaction over the Supreme Court's Ayodhya verdict, saying it has a lot of contradictions and they will seek a review of it.

The apex court on Saturday cleared the way for the construction of a Ram Temple at the disputed site at Ayodhya, and directed the Centre to allot a 5-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a mosque.

India: Ayodhya mosque dispute: Nirmohi Akhara not a Shebait, says SC

New Delhi, Nov 9 (PTI) Nirmohi Akhara is not a Shebait, an authorised devotee, of deity Ram Lalla, the Supreme Court held on Saturday while dismissing its lawsuit in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute at Ayodhya.

The top court also said that the suit filed by the Akhara was time barred.

Nirmohi Akhara had claimed that it is the Shebait or devotee of the idol of Lord Ram installed in the Ram Janmabhoomi temple and has the exclusive right to repair and reconstruct the temple.

India-Russia joint tri-service military exercise next month

New Delhi, Nov 9 (PTI) Mechanised contingents, fighter and transport aircraft as well ships of the armed forces of India and Russia will be part of the joint tri-service exercise Indra-2019 scheduled next month, sources said on Saturday.

In preparation of the exercise, a joint planning conference is being held from November 7-10 in two phases.

Phase one of the conference was conducted on November 7-8 at respective service locations of Babina, Pune and Goa to discuss service specific modalities.

India: Allahabad Bank loss widens to Rs 2,103 cr in Q2 on higher bad loans

New Delhi, Nov 8 (PTI) Allahabad Bank on Friday reported widening of net loss to Rs 2,103.19 crore for the September quarter 2019-20 due to higher provision for bad loans.

The state-owned lender had registered a loss of Rs 1,816.19 crore during the year-ago period, according to a regulatory filing.

In the preceding June quarter, the bank clocked a profit of Rs 128 crore.

India: AIMPLB contemplating seeking review of Ayodhya verdict

New Delhi, Nov 9 (PTI) Expressing dissatisfaction with the Supreme Court verdict that cleared the way for the construction of a Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Saturday said it was contemplating seeking a review of the judgment, even as it appealed to people to maintain peace and amity.

The apex court directed the Centre to allot a 5-acre plot at an alternative place to the Sunni Waqf Board, one of the parties in the decades long contentious dispute, for building a mosque.

India: CJI Gogoi to meet UP chief secretary, DGP to review law and order situation

New Delhi, Nov 8 (PTI) Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi is likely to have a meeting with Uttar Pradesh chief secretary and director general of police on Friday to assess the law and order arrangement in the state ahead of the verdict on the Ayodhya land dispute case to be pronounced next week, sources said.

The CJI has called UP Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari and DGP Om Prakash Singh and will have the meeting in his chamber, they said.

New Delhi, Nov 8 (PTI) The corporate India is forecasting deteriorating growth for October-December period this year as optimism for new orders and sales prices has hit the lowest level in nearly 18 years, a report said on Friday.

The Dun & Bradstreet Composite Business Optimism Index stood at 56.4 for December quarter this year, registering a decline of 19.5 per cent as compared to the year-ago period.
