TRIPOLI, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Libya's state-owned National Oil Corporation (NOC) on Sunday said the country's oil production has reached 1.207 million barrels per day.

The NOC published the number in a statement on its official Facebook page, adding that the country's daily condensate production stands at 52,000 barrels.

The NOC on Friday said the North African country produced more than 36.5 million barrels of crude oil, 199,438 tons of condensates, and about 1.07 billion cubic meters of natural gas in August.

TRIPOLI, Sept 9 (NNN-XINHUA) — The International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Friday said it repatriated 151 illegal Bangladeshi migrants from Libya.

“This week, IOM assisted 151 migrants to safely return home to Bangladesh through the VHR (Voluntary Humanitarian Return) program in a charter flight from Benghazi to Dhaka,” IOM said in a statement.

On Wednesday, Libyan Interior Minister Emad al-Tarabelsi repatriated 270 illegal migrants, confirming that more illegal migrants will be deported from Libya soon.

TRIPOLI, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya Abdoulaye Bathily on Wednesday stressed the United Nations' willingness to support constructive dialogue between the Libyan institutional players.

Bathily made the remarks on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, after visiting Al-Aziziyah city, the Warshafana Region, some 30 km southwest of Tripoli.

The move came one day after Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said that he had met with Al-Mangoush in Rome, Italy, last week.

Dbeibeh took the decision to sack Al-Mangoush during his visit to the Palestinian Embassy in Tripoli, the source said.

TRIPOLI, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Libyan Interior Minister Emad al-Tarabelsi announced Monday that 486 illegal migrants have been deported to their countries of origin.

In a press conference following the announcement, the minister said that 294 of them are from Egypt, while the others from different African countries.

Al-Tarabelsi said that the deportees include those recently left stranded near the Tunisian border after being expelled by Tunisian authorities.

TRIPOLI, July 14 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) on Thursday expressed concerns over the continued abductions, arbitrary arrests, and disappearances of citizens and public figures by various security actors in Libya.

The country's former Finance Minister Faraj Boumtari was reportedly detained at Mitiga Airport and taken to an undisclosed location on Wednesday, while five members of the High Council of State have been reportedly banned from traveling at the same airport on Thursday.

TRIPOLI, July 9 (Xinhua) -- The Libyan government announced on Sunday that a 10-year ban on Libyan civil flights over Italian airspace has been lifted.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has conveyed the decision to her Libyan counterpart Abdul-Hamed Dbeibah, the Libyan government said in a statement.

The decision marks a significant improvement in relations between Italy and Libya and is expected to have a positive impact on air travel and aviation cooperation between the two Mediterranean countries, analysts said.

TRIPOLI, June 20 (Xinhua) -- The Libyan Illegal Immigration Control Department on Tuesday deported 165 female illegal immigrants to their home country of Nigeria.

"Some of them were arrested as they were begging on the streets and others were arrested during raids on criminal hideouts," the department's spokesman Haitham Belgasem told Xinhua, adding that more deportation flights would be arranged in the future.

The International Organization for Migration has said that a total of 7,477 illegal immigrants have been rescued and returned to Libya so far this year.

30 May 2023; MEMO: A Libyan Court in the north-western city of Misrata has sentenced 23 people to death for membership in the Daesh terrorist group, Anadolu Agency reports.

The Court also slapped 14 others with life sentences on the same charges, the Attorney-General's office said in a statement.
