Russia slams Israel's settlements in the Golan Heights as Israel condemns Ukraine invasion

25 Feb 2022; MEMO: Russia condemned Israel's settlements in the occupied Golan Heights after Israel slammed Moscow' invasion of Ukraine, Israel Hayom reported yesterday.

According to the paper, Russia said Israel's actions violate the Geneva Convention of 1949.

"Russia does not recognise Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is part of Syria," the Russian statement said.

Russian deputy prime minister meets Imran Khan

MOSCOW, Feb 24 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister for Energy of Russia Alexander Novak Thursday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan here, along with a delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed the matters of mutual cooperation in multiple fields.

The prime minister is currently on a two-day official visit to Russia, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Russian deputy PM met the prime minister after the latter had a detailed one-on-one meeting with President Putin.

PM regrets latest Russia-Ukraine situation; says disputes should be resolved through dialogue, diplomacy

MOSCOW, Feb 24 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday regretting the latest situation between Russia and Ukraine underlined Pakistan’s belief that disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.​

Imran Khan, who had a Summit meeting with President Vladimir V. Putin in the Kremlin, said Pakistan had hoped diplomacy could avert a military conflict.

“The Prime Minister regretted the latest situation between Russia and Ukraine and said that Pakistan had hoped diplomacy could avert a military conflict”, a statement issued by the PM Media Office said.​

Top brass reveals 74 Ukrainian military facilities were crippled by Russia’s strikes

MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/: More than 70 ground infrastructure facilities belonging to Ukraine were incapacitated by strikes carried out by Russia’s Armed Forces, Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov told reporters on Thursday.

"As a result of the strikes conducted by Russia’s Armed Forces, 74 ground facilities of Ukraine’s military infrastructure were knocked out of action. Among them are 11 airfields belonging to the Air Force, three command points, a Ukrainian Navy base and 18 radar stations of S-300 and Buk-M1 missile systems," Konashenkov specified.

PM arrives Russia on two-day official visit; receives red carpet welcome

MOSCOW, (Russia) Feb 23 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday was accorded a red carpet welcome upon his arrival to Russia on a two-day official visit.

Upon arrival at the airport, the prime minister and his delegation was warmly received by Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov and the high officials of Pakistan Embassy. The prime minister was also given a guard of honour.

The prime minister is undertaking the visit at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Russia to offer strong, measured and sensitive response to US sanctions - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, February 23. /TASS/: Moscow will offer a strong response to US sanctions, if not necessarily tit-for-tat, but a measured and sensitive one for Washington, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on new US anti-Russian sanctions on Wednesday.

"There should be no doubt - sanctions will be met with a strong response, not necessarily symmetrical, but measured and sensitive for the US side," the document says.

Russia: UN Secretary General made statements on Ukraine incompatible with his status, Lavrov says

MOSCOW, February 23. /TASS/: UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres made several statements on the situation in eastern Ukraine that are not compatible with his status, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, opening talks with UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen on Wednesday.

"To our great regret, the UN Secretary General whom you are representing turned out to be susceptible to pressure by the West and recently made several statements incompatible with his status and his authority under the UN Charter," he said.

Russia detects 137,642 COVID-19 infections in 24 hours, crisis center says

MOSCOW, February 23. /TASS/: Russia has registered 137,642 new confirmed COVID-19 infections over the past 24 hours, with the total number of infections reaching 15,795,570 cases, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Wednesday.

According to the crisis center, the relative increase of new infections is at the level of 0.88%.

Russia: Putin stresses need for LPR, DPR recognition in conversation with Erdogan

MOSCOW, February 23. /TASS/: Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a phone conversation on Wednesday exchanged assessments on the situation around Russia’s recognition of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, the Kremlin press service said.

"Vladimir Putin stressed the real need for the decision that was made amid the Ukrainian authorities’ aggression in Donbass and their absolute refusal to implement the Minsk agreements," the statement said.

Russia's upper house approves use of military abroad

MOSCOW, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Federation Council, or the upper house of parliament, on Tuesday approved Russian President Vladimir Putin's request for the use of military abroad.

"Senators unanimously supported the adoption of the relevant Resolution," said a statement published on the website of the Federation Council.
