Iran denounces Israeli FM's visit to Bahrain

TEHRAN, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has denounced Israeli foreign minister's recent visit to Bahrain, Tasnim news agency reported on Saturday.

The Bahraini government's welcoming of Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid is "a blatant betrayal of the oppressed and resilient Palestinian people's cause," Amir Abdollahian said on Friday.

The presence of Israel in the region would result in "insecurity for Bahrain and the entire region," he was quoted as saying.

Iran launches military drills on border with Azerbaijan, Armenia

02 Oct 2021; MEMO: Iran on Friday announced launching military exercises on its borders with Azerbaijan and Armenia, in the northwestern part of the country, Anadolu reports.

In a statement, the commander of Iranian ground forces, Kioumars Heydari, said the maneuvers were launched with the participation of armored and artillery units, drones and electronic warfare units, and army helicopters.

Beset by inflation, Iranians struggle with high food prices

Iran considers U.S. action as criterion to decide on nuke negotiations: FM

TEHRAN, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that U.S. action will be the criterion for Iran to decide on the nuclear negotiations, official news agency IRNA reported on Sunday.

"We said this clearly that we will use the Americans' practical behavior as the basis of our judgment," Amir Abdollahian was quoted as saying.

"Contradictory signals" that the Americans send through media or diplomatic channels do not serve as the basis for Iran's final decision-making, he also told Iranian state TV.

'Soon' in Iranian parlance differs from West's in nuclear talks, Iran's top diplomat says

Sept 25 (Reuters) - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Saturday that when his government says it will return soon to talks on resuming compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal, it means when Tehran has completed its review of the nuclear file.

On Friday, Amirabdollahian told reporters in New York that Iran would return to talks “very soon,” but gave no specific date.

In remarks broadcast on state TV channel IRINN on Saturday, Amirabdollahian said, “People keep asking how soon is soon. Does it mean days, weeks or months?”

Iran supports resuming nuclear talks if they lead to lifting 'all sanctions'

22 Sep 2021; MEMO: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said he supports the resumption of negotiations aimed at reviving the nuclear deal if the "ultimate goal" is to lift all unjust sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic.

"The Islamic Republic considers the useful talks whose ultimate outcome is the lifting of all oppressive [US] sanctions," Raisi said in a recorded address to the annual UN General Assembly.

Iran Destroys Headquarters Of “Counter-Revolutionary” Groups In Northern Iraq: Commander

TEHRAN, Sept 21 (NNN-IRNA) – Iranian security forces destroyed four headquarters of “counter-revolutionary” groups by artillery, in northern Iraq, said the acting commander of the Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada base, in Iran’s West Azarbaijan province, yesterday.

The recent operation came, in response to the movements of these groups in the area, which borders northern Iraq, Majid Arjomandfar was quoted as saying.
