Russia’s fifth-generation Su-57 fighter to be in high demand — aircraft maker

MOSCOW, July 15. /TASS/: Customers are likely to place hundreds of orders for Russia’s latest Su-57 fifth-generation fighter, CEO of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Yuri Slyusar said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday. 

"We hope that this aircraft will be chosen as the platform and the basic plane for coping with a broad range of tasks, and orders for these fighters will run into the hundreds," the chief executive said.

This year, work will begin to develop several modifications of the aircraft, he said.

Russia’s Sputnik Light vaccine registered in Kazakhstan — RDIF

MOSCOW, July 15. /TASS/: Russia’s Sputnik Light single-component coronavirus vaccine has been registered in Kazakhstan, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said on Thursday.

"RDIF announces registration of the Russian Sputnik Light single-component vaccine against coronavirus by the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The single-component Sputnik Light vaccine will reduce population’s vaccination timeline and speed up herd immunity buildup," the Fund says.

Russia: Putin to speak at online APEC leaders’ summit on overcoming pandemic-linked global issues

MOSCOW, July 15. /TASS/: Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss overcoming global problems related to the coronavirus pandemic with the leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum (APEC) in a videoconference on Friday, the Kremlin press service reported on Thursday.

"The issues on overcoming global problems in the spheres of healthcare and the economy caused by the coronavirus infection faced by the countries of the Asian-Pacific region will be discussed," the statement said.

Russia: Putin orders govt to help Belarus weather western sanctions - Kremlin

MOSCOW, July 15 (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russia's government to help Belarus weather western sanctions imposed during Minsk's crackdown on political opponents, the Kremlin said on Thursday.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko travelled to Russia, a close ally, to hold talks with Putin on Tuesday. The European Union and United States have imposed punitive measures on Belarus in recent months.

Russia supplies engines for India’s combat trainer aircraft

MOSCOW, July 14. /TASS/: Russia’s United Engine Corporation (part of the Rostec state tech corporation) delivered two AL-55I turbojet engines to India’s HAL Corporation for the final stage of certification tests of the Indian HJT-36 combat trainer plane, the Rostec press office announced on Wednesday.

The United Engine Corporation carried out work to bolster the potential of the two engines that had logged over 5,000 hours of operation during bench tests. The customer’s representatives were present at the acceptance/delivery trials, the press office said in a statement.

Russia reports over 23,800 COVID-19 cases in the past day — crisis center

MOSCOW, July 14. /TASS/: Russia confirmed 23,827 COVID-19 cases over the past day, bringing the total case tally to 5,857,002, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Wednesday.

In relative terms, the incidence rate rose by 0.41%.

Moscow confirmed 3,966 COVID-19 cases over the past day, a new low since June 8. Some 2,469 COVID-19 cases were recorded in the Moscow Region, 1,942 in St. Petersburg, 531 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 461 in the Sverdlovsk Region and 451 in the Krasnodar Region.
