Some US legal acts show the country is split, Russian diplomat says

MOSCOW, July 11. /TASS/: A number of recently adopted legal acts in some US states point to the current split in the country as well as growing "cultural wars" in the United States, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel on Sunday.

"America is split, and ‘cultural wars’ are becoming more sophisticated and are ensured with laws now," the diplomat said.

Zakharova drew attention to two recently passed legal acts in some US states.

Russia blasts France’s discriminatory remarks on COVID-19 vaccines - diplomat

MOSCOW, July 11. /TASS/: Moscow condemns Paris for the discriminatory remarks made by French Minister of State for European Affairs Clement Beaune on Russian and Chinese COVID-19 vaccines, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel on Sunday.

Earlier on Sunday, Beaune voiced regret that Greece allowed passengers inoculated with vaccines produced in Russia and China to enter its soil.

Russian fighter jets scrambled to intercept US reconnaissance planes over Black Sea

MOSCOW, July 11. /TASS/: Russian Su-30SM and Su-27 fighter jets were scrambled to intercept two US reconnaissance planes approaching the Russian border over the Black Sea, Russia’s National Defense Management Center reported on Sunday.

According to the Center, Russian airspace control systems of the Southern Military District detected two aerial targets over the Black Sea approaching Russia’s state border on July 11.

Russia sees record number of single-day coronavirus fatalities

11 July 2021; AA: For the fourth time in 10 days, Russia registered on Saturday a record number of single-day coronavirus fatalities, 752 people died over the past day, taking the death toll to 142,253.

The daily infections remain high as well, with 25,082 people testing positive for COVID-19 since Friday, taking the overall count to 5.75 million and active cases to 433,210, Russia's coronavirus emergency task force said.

Over the same period, recoveries went up by 17,750 to reach 5.18 million, it added.

MOSCOW, July 10. /TASS/: The Admiral Golovko, the Russian Navy’s third Admiral Gorshkov-class frigate (Russian designation Project 22350), will become the first carrier of Tsirkon hypersonic missiles, a defense industry source told TASS on Saturday.

"It is planned that Admiral Golovko will become the first standard carrier of Tsirkons," the source said.

MOSCOW, July 10. /TASS/: Russia’s Nauka multifunctional laboratory module, which is scheduled to launch to the International Space Station (ISS) in July, has been filled up with fuel, Dmitry Rogozin, Director General of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, said on Saturday.

"The Nauka MLM [multifunctional laboratory module - TASS] has been filled with rocket fuel components. There are no remarks," Rogozin wrote on his Telegram channel.

Russia records all-time high of 752 daily coronavirus deaths

MOSCOW, July 10. /TASS/: Russia recorded 752 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours, up from 726 the day before, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said on Saturday. The total death toll has climbed to 142,253.

According to data from the crisis center, 2.47% of coronavirus patients have died in Russia.

In particular, 102 fatalities were reported in St. Petersburg in the past day, 22 in the Krasnodar region and 21 in the Rostov region. The Irkutsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions recorded 28 coronavirus deaths each.

Russia allows charter flights to Egyptian resorts after 2015 suspected bombing

MOSCOW, July 10 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Russia said its airlines can resume charter flights to Egyptian resorts, which had been banned for more than five years after the suspected bombing of a Russian airliner in which 224 people died.

President Vladimir Putin cancelled his order suspending the flights, according to a document on the government information site that did not give details of the decision.

All Russian flights to Egypt were banned after the Oct. 31, 2015, explosion of a St. Petersburg-bound airliner soon after takeoff from Sharm El Sheikh.
