Cuban FM condemned terrorist attack on Iranian scientist akhrizadeh

Tehran, Nov 29, IRNA –Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, condemned terrorist attack to assassinate Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the Iranian defense industry scientist, saying on Sunday that Havana opposes all forms of terrorism.

"We strongly condemn the terrorist attack that assassinated Iranian prominent scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, said Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, on his official Twitter account.

US-owned Western Union to shut Cuba offices from Nov 23

HAVANA, Nov 14 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Western Union will close its Cuba operation on Nov 23, following new US sanctions that prevent it from working with Havana’s military financial firm, Fincimex, the Cuban company announced Friday.

“Fincimex and Western Union have decided to suspend from 23 November the transfer of money from abroad,” as well as the US money transfer company’s 407 agencies in Cuba, Fincimex said on its Facebook page.

Cuba, Iran Vow To Strengthen Ties, Condemning U.S. Sanctions

HAVANA, Nov 7 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, met here with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, vowing to enhance bilateral relations and railing against U.S. sanctions.

Rodriguez said, Zarif’s visit will help continue deepening high-level political dialogue, as well as, economic, commercial, cultural, scientific and academic links between the two countries.

Venezuelan President thanks Russia for coronavirus vaccine supply

HAVANA, October 3. /TASS/: Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro thanked President Vladimir Putin and Russian citizens for the delivery of the first batch of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine to the republic.

"Sputnik V is already here! We are the first country in the Western Hemisphere to begin phase 3 of the clinical trials of this vaccine against Covid-19. On behalf of the Venezuelan people, I thank President Vladimir Putin and the Russian people for their solidarity," he wrote on Twitter on Friday.

Cuban president denounces U.S. blockade in UN speech

Covid-19: Havana imposes curfew over surge in cases while schools reopen elsewhere in Cuba

HAVANA, Sept 2 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Pupils returned to school throughout much of Cuba on Tuesday after more than five months, although not in Havana where restrictions including a curfew went into effect due to a surge in coronavirus infections.

Authorities deemed the coronavirus outbreak contained enough in most of the island to be able to restart classes as long as pupils wear face masks, disinfect their hands upon arrival at school and sit at physically distanced desks.

Cuba’s first medical brigade combating coronavirus in Italy returns home

HAVANA, June 8 (NNN-Xinhua) — The 52-member medical brigade on a mission to help Italy’s Lombardy region combat the COVID-19 pandemic returned to Cuba on Monday.

The Cuban health workers were received as heroes. State TV Cubavision streamed live their flight status before landing, and thousands of locals waved to the health workers from balconies and portals.
