India: Antifungal injections are out of stock at LLR hospital in Kanpur

Kanpur: Patients suffering from black fungus in Lala Lajpat Rai hospital can't have injections as these are out of stock for the past three days. Medicines like amphotericin injection and posaconazole capsule are out of stock at the hospital's store.

As many as 40 patients are admitted for treatment in the Medical College hospital. 

It is said that a total of about 250 injections were  earlier issued for treating the patients of black fungus at the hospital so far. 

India: Palghar mob lynching case: 14 accused get bail

Thane, Jun 29 (PTI) The district court in Thane on Tuesday granted bail to 14 accused arrested in connection with the lynching of two sadhus by a mob in Palghar district of Maharashtra in April 2020.

Additional sessions court (special designated court) judge RS Gupta rejected the bail applications of 18 other accused, counsel Amrut Adhikari said.

The court posted the next date of hearing on July 30 when charges are expected to be framed.

India: NIA takes over probe in Jammu airport drone attack

New Delhi/Jammu, Jun 29 (PTI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) Tuesday took over the charge of investigation into the recent drone attack on the Indian Force station located at the Jammu airport, an official said.

The decision to hand over the probe into the first-of-its-kind terror attack at the Indian Air Force station in the early hours of Sunday was taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In pursuance of the Home Ministry order, the NIA said it has re-registered the case of Police Station Satwari dated June 27.

India: BJP workers, farm law protestors clash in Ghazipur

Ghaziabad (UP), Jun 30 (PTI) BJP workers and farm law protesters clashed in Ghazipur on the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border on Wednesday.

The ruckus took place when the BJP workers were carrying out a procession on a flyway where the farm law protesters, chiefly supporters of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, have been camping since November 2020, according to eye-witnesses.

As the two sides came near each other on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway around 12 pm, a scuffle broke out and they fought with sticks which led to some injuries, they said.

India: Two-storey British days' bridge requires repairs

KANPUR: Built during the British days the two-storey bridge that connects the City to Shuklaganj area requires repairing as has been disclosed in the initial inspection report conducted by the Central Road Research Institute.

A primary report in this regard has been entrusted to the Public Works Department and the Setu Nirman Nigam.

A sum of rupees 29.50 lakh for detailed inspection has been sought from the PWD. 

India: 12 new corona cases surfaced in city on Monday

Kanpur: As many as 12 new cases of Corona surfaced in the city areas on Monday while three patients recovered in the home isolation.

On Monday a total of 7,353 samples were tested. As many as 2,531 samples were tested by antigen kit, out of which the only one tested positive.

In the latest update issued on the part of chief medical officer Dr Nepal Singh, no news of the death in previous days came to light on Monday.

Upon grounding of new cases, the total number of active patients reached 65. 

India: Dozen houses gutted in fire in J&K village

Banihal/Jammu, Jun 29 (PTI) At least a dozen houses were gutted in a massive fire that broke out in a remote village in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district on Tuesday, officials said, adding no injuries were reported in the incident.

It started in a house and spread to others in the densely populated Hijwa village of Khari, 28 km from Banihal sub-division, around 11 am.

The army and police reached the spot to assist local volunteers to douse the flames, officials said, adding fire tenders from Banihal town were also pressed into service.

Indian Covishield vaccine not approved in EU, Poonawalla hopes issue be resolved

New Delhi, Jun 28 (PTI) Vaccine major Serum Institute of India chief executive officer Adar Poonawalla on Monday said he has taken up the issues faced by Indians who have taken the Covishield jab travelling to the European Union at highest levels and hoped to resolve them soon.

Covishield is the Oxford University-AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured in India by the Pune-based vaccine maker.

Indian Govt hands over probe into Jammu airport drone attack to NIA

New Delhi, Jun 29 (PTI) The government on Tuesday handed over the probe into the drone attack on the Jammu air force station to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Explosives were dropped on the Indian Air Force station in Jammu by two drones in the early hours of Sunday, injuring two personnel.

The investigation into the attack on the Jammu air force station has been handed over to the NIA, a Home Ministry spokesperson said.
