MOSCOW, August 22. /TASS/: The Russian people cannot be broken so the murderers of Darya Dugina won’t achieve their goals, according to a statement by her father, public figure Alexander Dugin, published by Russian businessman Konstantin Malofeyev on his Telegram channel on Monday.

Dugin stressed that his daughter was "a patriot, a war correspondent, an expert of central channels and a philosopher" while she "never called for violence and war."

MOSCOW, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Russia on Monday requested that the U.N. Security Council holds a meeting on Tuesday regarding the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station, Russian state-owned news agency RIA reported, citing Deputy Ambassador to the U.N. Dmitry Polyanskiy.

Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Europe's largest, was overrun by Russian troops in March. It remains close to the frontlines, and has come under repeated shelling in recent weeks, raising fears of a nuclear disaster. Both Ukraine and Russian have blamed each other for strikes on the plant.

MOSCOW (AP) — Russia’s top counterintelligence agency on Monday blamed Ukrainian spy agencies have organized the killing of the daughter of a Russian nationalist ideologue.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), the main KGB successor agency, said that the killing of Darya Dugina has been “prepared and perpetrated by the Ukrainian special services.”

Dugina was the daughter of Alexander Dugin, a Russian nationalist ideologist who was described by some in the West as “Putin’s brain.”

MOSCOW, August 21. /TASS/: Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 39,669 over the past day to 19,117,343, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Sunday.

As many as 1,853 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, down 46.3% from a day earlier. The number of hospitalized patients increased in 11 regions, while in 66 regions the figure decreased. The situation remained unchanged in eight regions. A day earlier, 3,450 people were rushed to hospitals.

MOSCOW, August 21. /TASS/: The Russian Armed Forces have destroyed with Kalibr cruise missiles an ammunition depot in the Odessa Region, where missiles for US multiple rocket launchers HIMARS were stored, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov told reporters on Sunday.

"High-precision sea-based long-range Kalibr missiles near the village of Mayorskoye in the Odessa Region destroyed an ammunition depot with missiles for the American HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems and Western-made anti-aircraft systems," Konashenkov said.

SEVASTOPOL, August 21. /TASS/: Ukraine’s armed forces attempted to strike Belbek military airfield in Sevastopol on Sunday with air defense systems deflecting the attack, the city’s Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said on his Telegram channel.

"Our air defense systems took down new targets approaching Belbek from Yevpatoria. The request is the same - for everyone to remain calm," he wrote.

MOSCOW (AP) — The daughter of an influential Russian political theorist often referred to as “Putin’s brain” was killed in a car bombing on the outskirts of Moscow, authorities said Sunday.

The Moscow branch of the Russian Investigative Committee said preliminary information indicated 29-year-old TV commentator Daria Dugina was killed by an explosive planted in the SUV she was driving Saturday night.
