Russia to suspend oil supplies to states that will impose restrictions on price of its oil

MOSCOW, September 1. /TASS/: Russia will suspend supplies of oil and petroleum products to states, which will decide to restrict the price of oil from the country, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Thursday.

"As far as price restrictions are concerned, if they impose restrictions on prices, we will simply not supply oil and petroleum products to such companies or states that impose restrictions as we will not work non-competitively," he said.

Russia Bans 55 More Canadians From Entry

MOSCOW, Sept 1 (NNN-TASS) – The Russian Foreign Ministry, announced yesterday that, an additional 55 Canadian citizens have been indefinitely barred from entering the country, in response to Ottawa’s anti-Russian sanctions.

In addition to the travel ban on these “high-ranking military, politicians and public figures,” the activities of three non-governmental organisations from Canada, are now recognised as undesirable in Russia, the ministry said.

Russia warns Moldova not to threaten its troops in breakaway region

Sept 1 (Reuters) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned Moldova on Thursday that threatening the security of Russian troops in the breakaway region of Transdniestria risked triggering military confrontation with Moscow.

Russia has stationed peacekeeping troops in Transdniestria since the early 1990s, when an armed conflict saw pro-Russian separatists wrest most of the region from Moldovan control.

Top Russian oil official falls to death from hospital window - sources

MOSCOW, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Ravil Maganov, the chairman of Russia's second-largest oil producer Lukoil (LKOH.MM), died on Thursday after falling from a hospital window in Moscow, two sources familiar with the situation said, becoming the latest in a series of businessmen to meet with sudden unexplained deaths.

The sources confirmed reports by several Russian media that the 67-year-old had plunged to his death, but the circumstances surrounding his fall were unclear.

Russia: Putin denies Gorbachev a state funeral and will stay away

Most Russians say Russia has best ties with China — pollster

MOSCOW, August 31. /TASS/: More than half of Russians, or 55%, believe Russia has the most friendly ties with China, according to a poll by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) that was released on Wednesday.

"More than half of our fellow citizens - 55% - still believe that Russia has the strongest relations with China. That’s the highest level on record (up 10 percentage points from 2019)," the pollster said in a statement.

MOSCOW, Aug 31 (Reuters) - The Kremlin on Wednesday hailed late Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev as an extraordinary global statesman who helped end the Cold War, but said he had been badly wrong about the prospect of rapprochement with the "bloodthirsty" West.

The comments underlined President Vladimir Putin's feelings about the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union, which Gorbachev unwittingly presided over, and which Putin has lamented as the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th century which he would reverse if given a chance.
