Iran defends plan to improve missile accuracy

US charges China's Huawei with fraud, theft

Germany: 38,000 illegal immigrants caught by Federal Police

U.S. slaps sanctions on Venezuela's state-owned oil firm

WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- The United States on Monday imposed sanctions on a state-owned oil firm in Venezuela, the latest move of the Trump administration to mount pressure on President Nicolas Maduro to cede power to the opposition.

The sanctions on Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A., or PDVSA, will block 7 billion U.S. dollars in assets and could result in a loss of 11 billion dollars in sales next year, U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton told a White House briefing.

Northeastern allies of BJP to meet against Citizenship Bill

India: UP man gets life in jail for killing wife over dowry

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Jan 28 (PTI) A court here convicted a man on Monday and sentenced him to life in jail for burning his wife to death in 2013.

The fast track court also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on Monu after finding him guilty under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

DR CONGO: UN FINDS 50 MASS GRAVES IN AREA HIT BY ETHNIC FIGHTING

KINSHASA, Jan 28 (NNN-AGENCIES) -- More than 50 mass graves were discovered by a joint UN and government fact-finding mission after ethnic violence in mid-December in a region of western Democratic Republic of Congo, the UN announced.

“There are more than 50 mass graves or mass graves and individual graves that we have identified” in Yumbi in the western province of Mai-Ndombe, Abdoul Aziz Thioye, director of the Joint UN Office for Human Rights in the DRC (UNJHRO), said on Friday.
