Participants in intra-Afghan talks urge withdrawal of all foreign troops from Afghanistan

MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS/. Participants in the intra-Afghan conference in Moscow have called for complete withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan, Tolo News TV channel reported citing the statement issued at the end of the conference.

Gaza health system close to collapse

06 Feb 2019; AA: Israeli defense officials have warned that the health system in the blockaded Gaza Strip was close to collapse, according to Israeli daily Haaretz on Wednesday.

In an assessment to Israel’s security cabinet, the officials warned that the deteriorating health conditions in the Palestinian territory would make it difficult for the Israeli army to fight in Gaza for a long time.

Maduro calls on West to lift sanctions instead of sending humanitarian aid

CARACAS, February 5. /TASS/. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has urged Western states to remove sanctions on the South American country instead of sending humanitarian aid there if they want to help Venezuelans.

"At first they [Western states] block our billions of dollars and then they say that they want to send humanitarian assistance. If you want to help Venezuela, then stop the blockade and lift the sanctions," Maduro said, according to the Foreign Ministry’s Twitter.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that Israel does not favor the establishment of peace and security in Syria and in the region, official IRNA news agency reported.

Regional countries should boost convergence and cooperation to counter any plots against them, Zarif said in a meeting with his visiting Syrian counterpart Walid Muallem.

India: SC raps Centre on Assam National Register of Citizens

New Delhi, Feb 5 (PTI) The Supreme Court Tuesday came down heavily on the Centre over the Assam National Register of Citizens (NRC) process and said it is hell bent on not allowing the work to continue.

The top court rapped Ministry of Home Affairs for its plea seeking to stall the NRC work for two weeks keeping in mind the role of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in the election duty.

India: JK-based group Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen banned

New Delhi, Feb, 2019: The Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen, which has been fighting for "liberation of Kashmir", has been banned by the government of India, the Home Ministry said Wednesday.

In a notification, the ministry said the central government believes that the Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM) is involved in various anti-India activities, and its members are getting financial as well as logistic support from their handlers based outside India.
