Turkish Intelligence Killed Senior PKK Member In N. Iraq

ANKARA, Oct 10 (NNN-XINHUA) – Turkish National Intelligence Organisation (MIT), yesterday, killed a senior member of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and his bodyguard, in northern Iraq, the semi-official Anadolu Agency reported.

Okkes Deveri, codenamed Kendal Pirsus, was responsible for the health committee of the PKK, the news agency reported, quoting anonymous Turkish security officials.

Deveri and his bodyguard, Kayhan Kartal, were killed in a cross-border operation in Gara.

Turkey: If Washington does not meet our need for F-16 fighters, then there are other options; Erdogan

7 October 2022; MEMO: Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that many countries are willing to meet his country's needs, if the US does not meet Ankara's need for F-16 fighters.

In response to journalists' questions, he said, "If the United States does not meet our need for F-16 fighters, many countries are willing to do so," according to Anadolu news agency.

Turkey: Erdogan and Putin discuss improving ties, ending Ukraine war

ISTANBUL, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin about improving bilateral ties and he repeated Ankara's willingness to do its part to peacefully resolve the war in Ukraine, Erdogan's office said on Friday.

The latest developments in Ukraine, which Russia invaded earlier this year, were also discussed in the call, according to Turkey's Directorate of Communications.

Türkiye ready to help peacefully address Ukraine crisis: president

ANKARA, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye was ready to contribute to a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine crisis in the interests of all, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in a phone call on Friday.

In the phone call, Erdogan and Putin exchanged views on enhancing Türkiye-Russia relations as well as the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, according to a statement released by the Turkish presidency.

Accusing CHP's leader, Kılıcdaroglu, of 'abuse', Erdogan stated that the headscarf was no longer a problem, and that no one had a problem in public or schools.

Erdogan said, "If CHP is sincere, let's amend the Constitution to completely solve the problem."

Turkiye's inflation climbed to a new 24-year high of more than 83%

3 October 2022; MEMO: Turkiye's inflation climbed to a new 24-year high of more than 83 per cent for September, the country's official body for statistics, TUIK, said Monday, Reuters reports.

According to the report, consumer prices in September grew by 3.08 per cent, and annually by 83.45 per cent.

The domestic producer price index was up 4.78 per cent from the previous month, and up a whopping 151.5 per cent year on year, report added.

Turkiye, Libya sign agreements on hydrocarbon, gas

3 October 2022; MEMO: Stressing the strong ties between Turkiye and Libya, the Turkish Foreign Minister announced in Tripoli on Monday the signing of Memorandums of Understanding on hydrocarbon and gas between the two countries.

Saying that Turkiye has always stood with Libya and its people in times of need, Mevlut Cavusoglu told a joint press conference with his Libyan counterpart, Najla El Mangoush that his country will continue to support Libya without any hesitation.
