KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysian government has decided to implement the Movement Control Order (MCO) in six states – Penang, Selangor, Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan), Melaka, Johor and Sabah – for 14 days, from Wednesday until Jan 26.

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said another six states – Pahang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan – would be placed under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) while the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) would be enforced in Perlis and Sarawak for the same period.

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), Jan 11 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysian government via the Health Ministry and Pfizer (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd on Monday signed the manufacturing and supply agreement for the pharmaceutical company’s COVID-19 vaccines in Malaysia.

Monday’s agreement was an extension of the Binding Heads of Terms agreement signed on Nov 24, 2020.

The agreement was signed via a live conference by Health Minister Adham Baba, on behalf of the Malaysian government, and for Pfizer, its Country Manager (Malaysia and Brunei) Luksanawan Thangpaibool.

BANGI, Malaysia (Reuters) - Malaysian researchers have developed a method to transform the fibre found in normally discarded pineapple leaves to make a strong material that can be used to build the frames for unmanned aircraft, or drones.

The project, headed by Professor Mohamed Thariq Hameed Sultan at Malaysia’s Putra University, has been trying to find sustainable uses for pineapple waste generated by farmers in Hulu Langat, an area about 65 km (40 miles) from Kuala Lumpur.

Coroner Maimoonah Aid ruled out homicide, natural death and suicide and said Nora Anne Quoirin likely got lost after leaving her family’s cottage on her own.

MELAKA (a state in southwestern Malaysia), Dec 31 (NNN-Bernama) — A Malta-registered vessel with 26 crew was detained for anchoring without permission at about 4.9 nautical miles southwest of Pulau Upeh here, Wednesday.

Melaka and Negeri Sembilan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) deputy director (Operations) Maritime Commander Azman Samsudin said the ship, MT TAHITTI IMO No. 9600877, was detained at about 1.15 pm for failing to submit a document from the Director of the Marine Department on it being allowed to anchor at the location.

Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH or the Malaysian hajj pilgrims fund board) group managing director and chief executive officer, Nik Mohd Hasyudeen Yusoff said the discussion would also touch on whether Malaysian pilgrims should be given COVID-19 vaccination or not.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysian King Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah left for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Friday for a five-day special visit.

Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the special visit is at the invitation of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed Zayed Al Nahyan.
