MOSCOW, October 8. /TASS/: Russia’s COVID-19 cases grew by 11,493 in the past day and the total case tally reached 1,260,112, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Thursday.
According to its data, a 0.9% growth rate in the past five days was recorded.
Moscow confirmed 3,323 new COVID-19 cases versus 3,229 a day earlier. Another 461 cases were registered in St. Petersburg, 433 in the Moscow Region (the highest figure since June 25), 261 in the Rostov Region and 234 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The lowest growth rate - 0.2% - was recorded in Chechnya, where four new COVID-19 cases were confirmed. A low growth rate was also registered in the Nenets Autonomous Region (0.3%), the Tyva, Chuvash and Tatarstan Republics (0.4%).
The number of the so-called active coronavirus cases or patients who are undergoing treatment now rose to 235,727 (18.7% of those infected). This is the highest figure since June 22.
