India: Dependence on kins continues even after moving to fresh areas

KANPUR: Crowded localities force residents to find residential spaces in newer colonies which are more often situated in remote areas. People had to move for a cleaner, safer and peaceful places.

But, what they have to face at first hand is the non-availability of basic things required in their daily lives.

Either they have to move to the markets for buying the home needs or avail of home delivery. One elderly resident who had shifted to the newly built housing complex at the outer side of the city makes the phone calls to her acquaintances living in thinly populated localities for sending everything she genuinely needed. She takes the help of the milkman who also delivers milk to her kin living in the nearby inhabited locality.

This is not limited to her. But others too follow the similar inclination. They have stated: "This problem occurs due to certain reasons. Usually, the newer colonies are coming up at remote areas where there remain no shops owing to the non-populated area. Suddenly people start living in newer colonies and they have to start facing a very genuine problem. Solutions improve by and by but this materialises after a long time. The people in the newer establishment do get clean space, wide roads, noiseless surroundings but deprive of basic essential requirements."

Those who turn up in the new area from the heavily populated localities feel intensely of the want of certain basic things after their shifting. They do realise the trouble but have to bear with finely built shelter in the newer colony.
