29 July 2021; MEMO: Mohammed Al-Allami, a 12-year-old boy, was shot dead by the Israeli occupation forces in the town of Beit Ummar near Hebron in the occupied West Bank. He became the 77th Palestinian child killed by Israeli forces in 2021.
Al-Allami was shot in the chest when a soldier opened fire at a car driven by his father at the entrance to Beit Ummar, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement yesterday.
Nasri Sabarneh, the mayor of Beit Ummar, said that Mohammed's father was driving with both him and his sister when Mohammed asked him to stop at a shop to buy something.
According to Sabarneh, the father made a U-turn, and Israeli troops nearby began shouting at him to stop. A soldier then open-fired at the vehicle, shooting Mohammed in the chest.
He was then rushed to Ahli hospital in Hebron where he was reported to be in a critical condition. He was pronounced dead today.
The father and daughter were not reported to be hurt.
Al-Allami is the second Palestinian child to die of wounds sustained by Israeli fire in five days.
On Saturday, 17-year-old Palestinian Mohammed Munir Al-Tamimi died in hospital after being fatally shot by Israeli forces during a protest in the Palestinian village of Beita.
