RAMALLAH, Mar 2 (NNN-WAFA) – Three Palestinian young men were killed by Israeli soldiers, in two separate incidents in the West Bank, in less than 24 hours, Palestinian medics and eyewitnesses said yesterday.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said, in a press statement that, Ammar Abu Afifa, a 23-year-old Palestinian man, was killed by Israeli soldiers, near the Beit Fajjar village, close to the West Bank city of Bethlehem.
Palestinian eyewitnesses said that, Abu Afifa, originally from the al-Arroub refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, was shot in the head, during clashes in the village.
Israeli media quoted an Israeli army statement as confirming that, a Palestinian young man was killed, after he threw stones at Israeli soldiers, near the Beit Fajjar village.
Early yesterday, two Palestinian men were killed by Israeli soldiers, during clashes in the Palestinian refugee camp of Jenin, in the northern West Bank, medics and eyewitnesses said.
The Palestinian health ministry in the West Bank, identified the two victims as Abdullah al-Husari, 23, and Khaled Nejjem, 18, adding that, four other Palestinians were injured during the clashes.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) confirmed that al-Husari is one of its militants, who was killed by Israeli snipers, in the Jenin refugee camp.
Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Ishtaye said, in a press statement that, the Palestinian government condemned the Israeli killings of the Palestinian young men, warning that Israel “must pay the price of its aggression against the Palestinian people.”
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on the U.S., to assume its responsibilities, by pressuring the Israeli regime to stop its practices, while urging the International Criminal Court to quickly open an investigation into the Israeli “crimes.”
