ISLAMABAD, May 15 (APP): International Day of Families observed May 15 to promote the importance of a healthy and well-balanced family with the theme of this year is “Families and Climate Action: Focus on SDG13”.

Talking to private news channel Expert Haroon Ahmed said in connection with this particular day that the purpose to observe the day is to provide an opportunity to promote awareness of issues relating to families and to increase knowledge of the social, economic and demographic processes affecting them.

BEIJING, May 11 (Xinhua): Those born in the 2000s have a stronger sense of national pride than previous generations, according to a survey report published by the China Youth Daily earlier this week.

The online survey, covering 10,393 young Chinese from 31 provincial regions in China, found that the average level of national pride was 9.18 points out of 10, while those born in the 2000s and 1990s received 9.38 and 9.21 points, respectively.

MOSCOW, May 9. /TASS/: A ten-minute fireworks show illuminated Moscow’s skies on Thursday night to mark the Soviet Union’s victory in the Great Patriotic War over Nazi Germany with more than 10,000 salvos.

Journalists were told earlier at the Western Military District’s press service that Artillery Marshal Vladimir Mikhalkin firework division would perform the fireworks show in Moscow on May 9.

The fireworks were launched from 72 saluting guns and 18 artillery guns, and 50 kinds of fireworks were used.

MOSCOW, May 6. /TASS/: Artillery Marshal Vladimir Mikhalkin firework division is in the final stages of prepping to launch fireworks, which will be fired in Moscow to mark Victory Day on May 9.

The Western Military District’s press service told reporters on Monday that this year the fireworks will go on for 10 minutes and 10,000 bursts will be fired. "72 firework launchers and 18 artillery pieces will fire 30 rounds of fireworks over 10 minutes according to a specially devised automated system," the District said.

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — Actor Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, in a $50 million defamation lawsuit, citing a piece she wrote for The Washington Post about domestic abuse.

The complaint, filed Friday in the Circuit Court of Fairfax, Virginia, said that, while Depp was not named in the Post article, it was clear Heard was talking about him. The lawsuit called her ongoing allegations of domestic abuse “categorically and demonstrably false.”
