India: Zika virus has not yet been eliminated in Kanpur

Kanpur: There has now been reported 13 new positive Zika cases, ANI reports quoting the city's chief medical officer on Nov 12. With this, the Zika virus tally in Kanpur has now increased to 90.

On the other hand, 31 people recovered and tested negative for Zika virus infection, CMO Dr Nepal Singh informed.

Earlier on Wednesday, the city had crossed the 100 case mark after 16 fresh infections were detected.

India: 22 dengue cases reported in Mordabad

Kanpur: Moradabad has reported a total of 22 new dengue cases on Friday, informed Dr Nanak Saran, Chief Medical Officer at District Hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad.

He also said that around 350 dengue cases have been reported from October 22 till now in the district.

Meanwhile, Kanpur has reported 13 new Zika virus cases on Friday, while 31 people have also recovered from the virus.

"At present, the active caseload of Zika virus stands at 90," said Dr Nepal Singh, Chief Medical Officer of Kanpur.

Egypt orders implementation of smoking ban indoors

India: Kannauj also reports first Zika virus case

Kanpur: Expressing concern at the rapidly rising cases of Zika virus in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a high-level meeting on Saturday, instructing officials to speed up sanitisation work.

Infection of Zika virus is spreading rapidly in Kanpur. Considering the seriousness, special caution is required," he said.

Meanwhile, Kannauj district has reported its first Zika virus case, Chief Medical Officer Dr Vinod Kumar told ANI.

India: Spurt in Zika cases day after day in Kanpur, 89 Patients

Kanpur: Ten more people have been added into the list of patients who tested positive for the Zika virus here on Sunday. 

This has taken the total number of those infected in the district to a total of 89.

Of those recently infected with the virus, three are Air Force personnel, two are women and men each, officials said.

Till Friday, the total infections of Zika virus in the district was 66, which included 9 IAF personnel, 45 men and 21 women, according to officials.

India: 13 new Zika cases emerge in Kanpur, tally touches 79

Kanpur: It is yet again 13 fresh Zika virus cases were revealed here on Saturday, according to the ANI.

The total tally of the mosquito-borne disease stands at 79 now as it stepped up surveillance to check its spread, health officials said.

Dr Anil Nigam, CMS, Ursala Hospital said that our team was inspecting regularly. The Municipal corporation teams have also been deployed for the fogging to destroy mosquito breeding points.

So far Zika virus infection has been spreading rapidly in Kanpur. In this case, special caution is required.

Pakistan removes Iran from COVID-19 travel restrictions list

Islamabad, IRNA -- Pakistan has lifted COVID-19 travel restrictions from the Islamic Republic of Iran while announcing new conditions for air travel to the country.

National Command Operation Center on Wednesday in a meeting decided to relax coronavirus-related restrictions after the enforcement of obligatory vaccination for inbound travelers.

Accordingly, six countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, which was previously on List C of the air travel ban to Pakistan, were removed from the list.

UK becomes 1st to approve take-at-home COVID treatment pill

LONDON (AA) - The UK became the first country in the world to approve a COVID-19 treatment pill that can be taken at home when Britain’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approved the treatment on Thursday.

The pill, taken orally, is called molnupiravir, and was developed by Ridgeback Biotherapeutics and Merck Sharp & Dohme.

British Health Secretary Sajid Javid said: "Today is a historic day for our country, as the UK is now the first country in the world to approve an antiviral that can be taken at home for COVID-19.

US orders companies to have employees fully vaccinated for coronavirus by Jan. 4

05 Nov 2021; AA: The administration of US President Joe Biden on Thursday ordered American companies to make sure employees are fully vaccinated or regularly tested for the coronavirus by Jan .4.

The new regulation applies to businesses that have 100 or more employees, according to the Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

India: Kanpur Zika virus tally inflates to 66 humans

Kanpur: A total 30 fresh cases of Zika Virus were reported in Kanpur on Thursday, taking the total count for Zika Virus in the city to 66.

As many as 30 more people have tested positive for Zika virus in Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh.

With this, the total tally has gone up to 66, said Chief Medical Officer Dr Nepal Singh, according to news reports.

The first case of the Zika virus came to the fore in Kanpur on October 25. Later, the central government sent a multi-disciplinary team to Kanpur.
