Iran condemns Israeli attacks on Syria's Damascus

TEHRAN, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Iran on Friday strongly condemned Israeli missile attacks on sites in the Syrian capital of Damascus and the killing of an Iranian officer serving as a military adviser in Syria in one of the strikes.

In a statement published by the Sepah News, the media arm of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), the victim was identified as Milad Heidari, a military officer from IRGC.

Iran vows 'swift response' to US strikes on bases in Syria

26 Mar 2023; MEMO: Iran's top security body on Saturday warned that US strikes on military bases in Syria would draw a "swift response" as tensions escalate between the two arch-foes in the Arab country.

In a statement, Keyvan Khosravi, a spokesman for Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), denounced US strikes that targeted Iran-linked bases in eastern Syria, which he said have been established "at the request of the Syrian government".

Police Seized Nearly 1.3 Tonnes Of Opium In Iran

TEHRAN, Mar 27 (NNN-IRNA) – The Iranian police seized 1.295 tonnes of opium, after armed clashes with drug traffickers, in the south-eastern provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan, yesterday.

Four traffickers were arrested in two simultaneous operations, carried out by the anti-narcotics police, in the two counties, Doostali Jalilian, Sistan and Baluchestan’s police commander, was quoted as saying.

This was the second-largest batch of narcotics seized by police in south-eastern Iran, over the past few days.

Russia becomes Iran's largest foreign investor: Iran FM

Russia invested $2.76 billion in the Islamic Republic during the current financial year, which ended this week, Ehsan Khandouzi told the Financial Times. These investments were made in various sectors such as the industrial, mining and transport sectors, according to the Minister.

Iran Launched Two 800-Tonne Landing Craft In Southern Waters

TEHRAN, Mar 19 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran yesterday launched two 800-tonne landing craft vessels, in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas.

The two vessels are identical, with a length of 53 metres, a width of 14.5 metres and a draft of 2.25 metres, Esmaeil Makkizadeh, the deputy for maritime affairs of the southern Iranian Hormuzgan Province Port and Maritime Authority, was quoted as saying.

He added, each vessel has two 830-horsepower engines and is capable of navigating at a speed of 10 knots.

Iran launches two homemade landing craft vessels in Bandar Abbas

Bandar Abbas, IRNA – Two domestically-built landing crafts weighing 800 tons each were launched in one of the shipbuilding companies in Bandar Abbas, Deputy Head of Hormuzgan Ports and Navigation Organization for Navigation Affairs announced.

"These vessels are identical, with a length of 53 meters, a width of 14.50 meters and have a 2.25 meter water intake," Esmaeil Makkizadeh said on Saturday.

Iran sentences two people to death over Shiraz terror attack

Shiraz, IRNA – Iran has sentenced two people to death in connection with the terror attack that left more than two dozen civilians dead in the city of Shiraz, southern Fars Province, in October 2022.

The ruling was announced on Saturday by Kazem Mousavi, the director general of the Justice Department in Fars Province.

Two main defendants involved in the attack were found guilty of “corruption on earth” and taking action against national security, Mousavi said, adding that they will be executed in public, without giving the exact date.
