Iranian auto industry moves ahead despite U.S. sanctions

TEHRAN, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Major Iranian car manufacturers have seen sales growth over the past months despite U.S. sanctions.

Iran Khodro (IKCO), Saipa Automotive Group and Pars Khodro, three Iranian major automakers, have sold about 536,000 units of various products during the first half of the current Iranian year, which started on March 20, Iranian Donya-e-Eqtesad daily recently reported.

According to the report, the sales of these car manufacturers increased by about 26 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

E-mail of Iran's nuclear energy server hacked

24 October 2022; MEMO: Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation (AEOI) said yesterday that the server hosting the e-mail service of its nuclear programme was hacked by a "foreign" party.

The AEOI confirmed in a statement the hacking of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant's server from "a certain foreign country," with information about activities there being leaked online.

Anadolu said the agency played down the hacking, saying the move was designed to "attract public attention" and "create media space."

U.S. sends message to Iran, "in hurry" to reach nuke agreement: Iranian FM

TEHRAN, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister on Saturday said his country has received a U.S. message expressing American hastiness to reach the nuclear deal with Iran, official IRNA news agency reported.

"Three days ago, we received a message from the United States, and told them that the (International Atomic Energy) Agency (IAEA)'s accusations against Iran's nuclear program should be resolved" before any agreement, said Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in the Armenian capital of Yerevan.

Iran, Turkey reach new agreement on gas export

Tehran, IRNA – The head of dispatching operations at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), following the recent meeting between The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) officials with Botas, Turkey's state oil and gas company, said on Sunday that Tehran and Ankara have reached a new agreement on gas export contract.

Mohammadreza Joulaei referring to the new agreement said that, according to it, all technical, operational and executive activities of gas export to Turkey, in the next 6 months will be done with the coordination of both sides.

Iran condemns call for U.N. probe into alleged use of its drones in Ukraine

Oct 22 (Reuters) - Iran on Saturday strongly condemned a call by France, Germany and Britain for the United Nations to probe accusations that Russia has used Iranian-origin drones to attack Ukraine, its foreign ministry said.

Tehran denies supplying drones to Moscow in the Ukraine war.

In a speech on Saturday, President Ebrahim Raisi struck a defiant tone on Iran's military sales in general, saying the country was now a popular prospective exporter of weapons.

Iran will not allow Israel to establish bases near Iranian territory, says senior officer

21 October 2022; MEMO: Iran will not allow Israel to establish military bases anywhere near Iranian territory, the commander of the ground forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has said.

"The Iranian armed forces and law enforcement agencies defending our land borders are the country's strength against foreign interference," explained Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour on Thursday. "Iran will never allow the fake Zionist entity to have a military and intelligence base in its vicinity or in neighbouring countries."

Iran Imposed Sanctions On British Officials, Institutes For “Backing Terrorism”

TEHRAN, Oct 20 (NNN-IRNA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry, yesterday, imposed sanctions on a number of British institutes and individuals, for “supporting terrorism and terrorist groups, promoting and instigating terrorism, and hate-mongering and violation of human rights.”

The ministry issued a statement saying, the move was made within the framework of related legal regulations and sanction mechanisms, as well as, a “response in kind.”

Iran Ready To Help End Ukraine Crisis: President

TEHRAN, Oct 20 (NNN-IRNA) – Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, yesterday, rejected certain “unsubstantiated claims” about Tehran’s stance towards the conflict in Ukraine, saying, Iran is ready to play a role in ending the crisis.

Making the remarks in a phone call with his Polish counterpart, Andrzej Duda, Raisi noted that, Tehran is ready to use “all its capacities and potential” to help end the conflict in Ukraine, according to the Iranian presidency’s website.

He stressed that, ever since the eruption of the conflict, Iran’s stance has been opposition to it.

Iran Seeks “Logical” Nuke Deal: FM

TEHRAN, Oct 19 (NNN-IRNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, said, Iran is seeking a “logical” nuclear agreement which will secure the interests of the country.

Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a state TV programme, referring to Iran’s demands in reaching an agreement on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

He noted that, “our goal in negotiations is to reach a good and stable agreement, and when we uphold the JCPOA, we must have a reliable level of guarantees.”
