Iran urges int'l community to make stand against Israel's 'unspeakable crimes'

Tehran, IRNA – Secretary of Islamic Republic of Iran Human Rights Headquarters Kazem Gharibabadi called on the international community to make a stand against the Zionist regime's "unspeakable crimes".

"How can one expect the blood-thirsty Israeli regime which headshots journalists to respect their dead bodies?" Gharibabadi asked in a Twitter message on Saturday.

"Enjoying the United States’ unwavering support for decades, the regime’s unspeakable crimes will continue with no end in sight – unless the intl. community makes a stand!" he added.

Iranian President Raisi depicts Shia-Sunni unity as Iran strategy

Tehran, IRNA – President Ebrahim Raisi has underscored that unity among Shias and Sunnis is considered as a strategy, not a tactic, from the standpoint of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a meeting with a number of Sunni scholars, Raisi said on Sunday that clerics and scholars enjoy significant position in Iran’s history.

“You Sunni clerics and thinkers have provided many services in their own country,” the president said, adding, “Shiites and Sunnis have lived together in Islamic Iran for many years.”

Iran's Navy thwarts pirate attack on cargo ship in Gulf of Aden

TEHRAN, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Navy has thwarted a pirate attack on an Iranian cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden, Iranian Press TV reported on Saturday.

Unidentified pirates attacked the ship on Friday, but facing the fire from the Iranian Navy's 80th fleet they fled, the Navy said in a statement.

The Iranian vessel is now sailing to its designated destination, it added.

Over the past years, Iran's Navy has managed to foil several attacks on both Iranian and foreign vessels in international waters.

Iran arrests 2 Europeans over promoting unrest

TEHRAN, May 11 (Xinhua) -- The Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced on Wednesday that two European individuals aimed at causing "unrest", "social disorder" and "instability" in the country were arrested.

The ministry said in a statement that the two individuals from a European country, who had entered Iran seeking to "abuse the rightful demands of some of the country's associations and social classes and change the direction of the normal requests toward unrest as well as social disorder and instability", were identified and arrested by its forces.

Iran shells Iraq's Kurdish capital to target 'terrorist bases'

11 May 2022; MEMO: Iran's Revolutionary Guards shelled an area north of the Kurdish Iraqi capital of Erbil today, targeting what Iranian state television described as terrorist bases, Reuters reports.

Iraqi Kurdish media reported that an artillery shell had landed in a village in the Sidekan area near the Iranian border, around 100 kilometres northeast of Erbil.

Iranian state TV said no casualties had been reported and details of the attack would be announced shortly.

Iran arrests 2 Europeans for 'organisation of insecurity'

11 May 2022; MEMO: Iran's intelligence ministry said today it had arrested two European nationals for their alleged role in "the organisation of insecurity" in the Islamic Republic, the semi-official Students News Agency (ISNA) reported according to Reuters.

The pair were arrested "for organising chaos and social disorder aimed at destabilising the country" in conjunction with foreign intelligence services, ISNA cited the ministry as saying, without giving further details...

G7 Calls For Revival Of Iran Nuclear Deal

TEHRAN, May 10 (NNN-MNA) – In a statement yesterday, the G7 Non-Proliferation Directors Group, called for the revival of the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal, as the best political solution.

“We renew our support for a restoration and full implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. A diplomatic solution remains the best way to restrict Iran’s nuclear programme,” the Statement of the G7 Non-Proliferation Directors Group said.
