Palestine: Gaza's sole power plant running out of fuel

06 Nov 2021; MEMO: The Gaza Strip's sole power plant is poised to stop working on Sunday morning as it is running out of fuel, according to the enclave's Energy and Natural Resources Authority, Anadolu reports.

The energy authority said Saturday the failure of the entry of Qatari fuel, which supplies the power station, into the blockaded Gaza since November 2 might mean Gaza will face a power outage by Sunday morning.

RAMALLAH, Nov 6 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Ishtaye, yesterday, condemned Israeli soldiers, for killing a 13-year-old Palestinian boy, during clashes near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

“Killing the child, Mohammed Da’das, 13, is an awful crime; therefore, the international community and human rights organisations must condemn the Israeli crimes, and act on stopping these actions against the Palestinian people.”

Palestine: Half Of Gaza Children Need Psychological Support: UN Agency

GAZA, Nov 4 (NNN-WAFA) – More than half of the children in the Gaza Strip need psychological support, said the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

Thomas White, director of UNRWA operations in Gaza, made the remarks, during a meeting with local journalists at his office in Gaza, noting that, “this was due to the repercussions of the last round of tension in the enclave in May.”

Abbas heading to Russia soon to revive International Quartet

03 Nov 2021; MEMO: Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas is heading to Moscow soon in an attempt to revive the International Quartet for the peace process, spokesperson Nabeel Abu Rudeineh said yesterday.

According to the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Abbas hopes that Russia will work on reviving the International Quartet.

After 111 days on hunger strike, Palestine prisoner faces imminent death, rights group warns

03 Nov 2021; MEMO: Palestinian hunger strike being held in Israeli jails, Kayed Al-Fasfous, is facing imminent death, the PLO's Prisoners and Freed Prisoners Commission warned yesterday.

In a statement, the body said that Al-Fasfous' health "is quickly deteriorating and he could be declared dead at any moment."

Palestine: Situation is heading to escalation with Israel: Hamas

02 Nov 2021; MEMO: The situation between the Palestinians and Israel is heading towards a military confrontation, member of Hamas' Political Bureau, Zaher Jabareen, said yesterday.

Speaking to Al Aqsa Radio, Jabareen said: "Tensions inside prisons have been escalating since the escape from Gilboa Prison."

‘Palestinians ready to engage with Chinese to tell them our story’

30 Oct 2021; AA: Palestinians are ready to engage with the Chinese government and people to “tell them our story,” speakers and experts told an Istanbul conference on Saturday.

However, a formal engagement with Beijing also requires platforms and vibrant activism, they added.

“We are ready and willing to engage with Chinese lawmakers to explain our story,” said Sheikh Hamid Al-Ahmar, addressing the first international conference on China and the Palestinian cause.

Israel locks up 2 Palestine neighbourhoods with iron gates

30 Oct 2021; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces on Friday locked up two Palestinian neighbourhoods with iron gates in the occupied West Bank, Anadolu Agency reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli occupation closed the iron gate of the neighbourhood of Sanjal in the north of the West Bank city of Ramallah, preventing people from entering or leaving the area.
