USA: What to know about 1st test flight of SpaceX’s big Starship

Boca Chica ,Texas  (AP) — Elon Musk’s SpaceX is about to take its most daring leap yet with a round-the-world test flight of its mammoth Starship.

It’s the biggest and mightiest rocket ever built, with the lofty goals of ferrying people to the moon and Mars.

Jutting almost 400 feet (120 meters) into the South Texas sky, Starship could blast off as early as Monday, with no one aboard. Musk’s company got the OK from the Federal Aviation Administration on Friday.

The launch of IMECE took place early on Saturday at Vandenberg Space Force Base in the US state of California and was carried out by SpaceX.

Kuwait News unveils world's first artificial intelligence news anchor

In a video posted on its Twitter account over the weekend, Kuwait News, a blonde woman wearing a black jacket and a white t-shirt presented herself in Arabic as "Fedha, the first presenter in Kuwait who works with artificial intelligence at Kuwait News."

Turkiye launched world's first unmanned warship

11 Apr 2023; MEMO: The world's first unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) carrier was delivered to the Turkish navy yesterday, Anadolu reported.

The unmanned warship was built in Istanbul-based shipyard Sedef. It can carry helicopters, drones, land vehicles, light warcraft and personnel.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the ceremony held to receive th TCG Anadolu.

Turkiye's new supersonic missile boasts compatibility with air, land, naval platforms

04 Apr 2023; MEMO: The UAV-230, a new ballistic supersonic missile developed by Turkish defence firm, Roketsan, can be integrated with airborne, land, and naval platforms, Anadolu News Agency reports.

In the airborne category, the missile is compatible with unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs), including Turkey's Aksungur, Akinci and Kizilelma.

NASA's SpaceX mission called off minutes ahead of blast-off

27 Feb 2023; MEMO: NASA's SpaceX Crew-6 space mission, which included Emirati astronaut Sultan Al-Neyadi, has been called off minutes ahead of blast-off. The mission, which was to launch from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida as part of a six-month space mission to the International Space Station (ISS), was postponed due to an issue with ground systems, which is currently being investigated.

Russia to propose Gulf States partnership to produce Su-75 Checkmate fighter aircraft

19 Feb 2023; MEMO: Russia is to propose a partnership with the Gulf States to produce its cutting-edge fighter jet Su-75, also referred to as Checkmate, Russian media reported on Thursday.

"Rosoboronexport is considering options for joint design and manufacture of cutting-edge high-tech products, including a fifth-generation fighter based on the Checkmate light tactical aircraft," shared Rosoboronexport's Director General Alexander Mikheev.

According to the report, Turkish defence firm, STM, puts itself on a new target of developing unmanned submarines after delivering the second of the Agosta 90B class submarines owned by Pakistan's Navy in Turkiye's first and only submarine modernisation export.
