Preliminary consultations on Iran nuclear deal start in Vienna - Russian mission

VIENNA, July 28./TASS/: Preliminary consultations of participants in a session of the JCPOA Joint Commission have started in Vienna, Russia’s Permanent Mission to the International Organizations in Vienna said in a tweet on Sunday.

"The Russian delegation is led by Deputy [Foreign Minister] Sergey Ryabkov", it said.

A session of the Joint Commission at the level of political directors will be held in Vienna on Sunday. Prior to the previous meeting, the Russian side had held consultations with representatives from the European foreign policy service, China and Iran.

Cautious hopes before new round of US-China trade talks

France hopes universal digital tax agreed at G7 summit

PARIS, July 28 (Xinhua) -- France hopes leaders of G7 would agree on a universal tax of digital activities at the bloc' summit next month in France, French Minister of the Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire said Saturday.

"We hope between now and the end of August -- the G7 heads of state meeting in Biarritz -- will reach an agreement," Le Maire told a press conference.

"The challenge that we have to overcome is the digital economy which is not taxed at the same level as the other economic activities," he said.

Trump may tax French wine in retaliation of their digital tax

Washington, Jul 27 (PTI) US President Donald Trump on Friday said he would impose tax on French wine in retaliation of France's digital tax that would impact American companies.

"I told him (French President Emmanuel Macron) don't do it, because if you do it, I'm going to tax your wine -- tariff or tax -- call it whatever you want. So, yeah, we are working on that right now," Trump told reporters at the White House.

Trump predicts sharp rise in US-UK trade under Boris Johnson

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump says he’s spoken with new British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the two nations already are working on a new trade agreement.

Trump told reporters on Friday in the Oval Office that he had just spoken with Johnson. He predicted the U.S. and U.K. could reach “a very substantial trade agreement” that far exceeds existing levels of commerce.

Trump added that trade between the two countries had been “impeded” by the U.K.’s relationship with the European Union.

UK warships to escort British-flagged vessels through Strait of Hormuz

LONDON, July 26 (NNN-AGENCIES) – UK warships will accompany all British-flagged vessels through the Strait of Hormuz in a change of policy after the government earlier said it did not have the resources to protect every ship from Iranian aggression.

A British government spokesman said ships passing through the strategically important chokepoint would be accompanied either individually or in a convoy.
