Geneva - IRNA, 27 February 2024 - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said that the Israeli regime is the most immediate and tangible danger, not only for the defenseless Palestinians and the West Asian region, but also for the whole world.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks addressing the disarmament conference at the headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva.

Iran says no limits in defending "national interests" after missile strikes on Syria, Iraq

TEHRAN, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani said Wednesday that the country's armed forces will not set limits when defending the nation's interests and people, after launching missile strikes on targets in Syria and Iraq.

"We see no limit when it comes to defending our national interests and people," and Iran's reaction to threats will be "proportionate, decisive and harsh," the official IRNA news agency cited him as saying.

Factory blast in N. Iran injures 53

TEHRAN, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- A blast and a consequent fire at a cosmetics factory in northern Iran injured 53 people and damaged the factory's building and equipment on Tuesday, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

The explosion of a gas cylinder used for filling cosmetic sprays sparked the fire at the factory in Simin Dasht Industrial Park in Fardis County, Alborz province, Fars cited the county's fire department chief Hossein Ashouri as saying.

Iran blames U.S. military interventions for regional instability

TEHRAN, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Monday that many of the insecurities, instabilities and tensions in West Asia have roots in the U.S. military presence and interventions in the region.

He made the remarks at a weekly press conference in the Iranian capital Tehran, while commenting on the recent tensions between U.S. forces and resistance groups in Iraq and other regional states.

Both deadly blasts in Iran's Kerman "suicide attacks": deputy minister

TEHRAN, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Majid Mir-Ahmadi said on Friday both bomb attacks that rocked the area near the tomb of Qassem Soleimani in Kerman, southeastern Iran, were "suicide attacks."

Mir-Ahmadi told the official IRNA news agency that parts of the bombers' bodies had been found at the site of Wednesday's attack, which has killed at least 89 people and wounded more than 280.

Iran, Iraq sign MoU on training cooperation in oil sector

TEHRAN, Dec 28 (NNN-XINHUA) — Iran and Iraq on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on providing training courses for workers in the oil sector, Shana News Agency affiliated with the Iranian Oil Ministry reported.

The MoU was signed between Mehdi Ali-Madadi, Iran’s deputy oil minister for management and human resources development, and Bassim Mohammed Khudair, Iraqi deputy oil minister for extraction affairs, in the Iranian capital of Tehran, the report said.

Iran executes four accused of sabotage, links to Israel's Mossad

Dec 29 (Reuters) - Iran executed on Friday four people, including a woman, whom it accused of being "saboteurs" with links to Israel's Mossad intelligence service, the Mizan news agency affiliated to the judiciary said.

The executions took to five the number of people put to death this month in a decades-long shadow war that has seen Iran accuse Israel of attacks on its nuclear effort, charges the latter has never confirmed or denied.
