Border trade between Pakistan & China to resume next week after 3 years

Islamabad, Apr 1 (PTI) After a three-year hiatus, Pakistan and China are set to resume trade from Monday through the Khunjerab Pass - the only land route between the two all-weather allies, a media report said on Saturday.

The Khunjerab Pass was closed in November 2019 to contain the transmission of the COVID-19 virus between the two countries.

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar presented 'The Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Act, 2023', which was approved by the Cabinet earlier in the evening.

Islamabad, Mar 11 (PTI) Pakistan’s ex-premier Imran Khan on Saturday accused the Punjab caretaker government of covering up the death of one of his party workers and demanded a judicial probe into his killing.

Ali Bilal, also known as Zillay Shah, died, while several others were injured on March 8 as the Punjab government used force to block a rally staged to launch Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party’s campaign for the April 30 elections in the province.

Pakistan: Retired Army general arrested on charges of inciting public against national institutions

Islamabad, Feb 27 (PTI) A high-ranking retired Pakistan Army general was arrested early Monday morning on charges of inciting the public against national institutions.

Lt General (retd.) Amjad Shoaib, a prominent supporter of former prime minister Imran Khan, was detained by the Islamabad police from his residence in the federal capital after a first information report (FIR) was registered against him at the Ramna police station on Sunday by Magistrate Owais Khan.

Armed men attack police station in Pakistan's Karachi

ISLAMABAD, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- A group of armed men opened fire at a police station in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Friday, police officials said.

According to the local police, no casualties have been reported so far from the attack, adding that the assailants hurled hand grenades before making their way into the police station building.

Security and rescue teams have reached the area and cordoned it off.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

World Bank approves $1.69bn for Pakistan flood relief projects
