Putin points to average air temperature growing faster in Russia than worldwide

NOVO-OGARYOVO, October 31. /TASS/: Global warming is unfolding in Russia faster than in the world and the average air temperature in the country has grown by a half-degree in the past decade, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a G20 summit via a videoconference on Sunday.

"Let me note that the average annual air temperature in Russia is growing faster than in the world by more than 2.5 times. Over ten years, it has grown by more than a half-degree," the Russian leader said.

Russia Tracks U.S. Destroyer In Black Sea Amid NATO Drills

MOSCOW, Oct 31 (NNN-TASS) – Russia’s Black Sea Fleet is tracking the movement of U.S. guided-missile destroyer, USS Porter, that entered the Black Sea yesterday, said the Russian Defence Ministry.

The U.S. Sixth Fleet tweeted on Friday that, USS Porter began its northbound transit to the Black Sea to operate with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) allies and partners, in the region.

Russia hits new high daily coronavirus cases

MOSCOW (AP) — Russia has recorded a new daily high number of coronavirus cases as much of the country’s businesses remain closed in an effort to counter a weekslong surge in infections.

The national coronavirus task force on Sunday reported 40,993 new infections over the previous day, up more than 700 on the previous record of a day earlier. Russia has tallied new record of infections or deaths almost daily during October.

The death toll reported Sunday was 1,158, just slightly down from Friday’s record 1,163.

Russia records all-time high of 40,251 new daily coronavirus cases

MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/: Russia recorded 40,251 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the highest daily number since the beginning of the pandemic, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said on Saturday. The total number of cases has reached 8,472,797.

According to data from the crisis center, Russia's coronavirus growth rate was 0.48%.

In particular, 7,267 coronavirus cases were reported in Moscow in the past day, 3,578 in St. Petersburg, 2,680 in the Moscow region, 1,405 in the Samara region, 815 in the Nizhny Novgorod region and 787 in the Voronezh region.

Russian Health Ministry recommends using Sputnik Light only as COVID booster jab

VLADIMIR, October 30. /TASS/: The Sputnik Light vaccine should be used only for revaccination, and corresponding amendments to vaccination guidelines will be published later in the day, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said during his working trip to the Vladimir region on Saturday.

"As the Delta variant is spreading, changes in the methodological recommendations on vaccination will definitely be issued today, and they will read, ‘Sputnik Light shall be used only for revaccination’," Murashko said.

Russia: Gazprom meets European consumers’ bids in full - company

MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/: European consumers’ applications for supplies of Russian gas are being fulfilled in full, Russia’s energy giant Gazprom said in a statement amid reports that pumping via the Yamal-Europe pipeline had been stopped.

"Fluctuations in demand for Russian gas depends on the buyers’ existing needs," Gazprom said.

Moscow has no plans to discuss Russian laws with anyone — Kremlin spokesman

MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/: Moscow will not listen to other countries' criticism of its foreign agent media law, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday.

"We aren't ready to listen to such criticism," he pointed out. "It is about our domestic legislation and we have no plans to discuss it with anyone," Peskov noted, when speaking about a statement by the United States and its allies, in which they had criticized Russia over the use of the foreign agent media law.
