RIYADH, July 13 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi-led Arab coalition involved in a war in Yemen said it intercepted on Monday four missiles and seven drones launched by the Houthi rebels toward the kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Turki Al Maliki, spokesman of the coalition, said in a statement that the the dawn attacks by Houthis targeted civilians and civilian areas.
Early this month, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir told a press conference that Houthis carried out 1,659 attacks on Saudi Arabia in the past five years, with 318 ballistic missiles, 371 drones, 64 explosive boats and 153 naval mines.
The Arab coalition completed in March its fifth year of war in Yemen against the Houthi militia and in support of the elected Yemeni government.
