There is no noise and disturbance all around, though a group was overheard shouting some patriotic slogan on the road. It seems that the children are huddled inside the room because of the intense cold.
One 12-year-old said: I did not feel energetic to move out. Even the daily practice of increasing height is on hold today. However, he did not forget to play badminton.
Housewives are disturbed that there will not be the removal of dirt and garbage on account of the holiday on this particular day.
Youths are a little bit disappointed as no programme has been taken up on this auspicious day. Not even the unfurling of the national flag was done in their compound. They fret and fume over the indifferent attitude of those who puff up on showing responsibility.
"We were happier if the badminton match would have been organised at least," they stated.
