03 July 2021; MEMO: The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported on Saturday that the Bushehr Nuclear Power plant had resumed activities after being shut down two weeks ago due to repairs.
IRIB quoted Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, spokesperson for state-run power company TAVANIR, stating: "After repairs the Bushehr power plant is back to work, and 1,000 MW of electricity is injected into the country's distribution network."
Last week, Iran's nuclear department disclosed that engineers were working to repair the plant's broken generator.
Iran has witnessed power outages, which officials attribute to the high demand for electricity due to the hot, dry weather during the summer.
