MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. The US-led coalition once again carried out airstrikes on the inhabited community of al-Baghouz in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province on Sunday using white phosphorus munitions, the SANA news agency reported.
According to the Syrian news agency, civilian casualties are reported.
On Saturday, the coalition carried airstrikes on the area involving the use of white phosphorus bombs. In 2018, the Syrian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly sent letters the UN Security Council, in which it condemned the use of banned white phosphorus munitions and cluster bombs by the coalition.
An outpost of the Islamic State (IS) terror group (outlawed in Russia) is located in al-Baghouz. It is currently stormed by Kurdish units backed by the Western coalition’s planes.
