Ukraine withdraws from several CIS agreements

KIEV, May 22. /TASS/: Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament) has approved a bill on the country’s withdrawal from the agreement on the perpetuation of the memory about the heroism of the peoples of the CIS member states during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, leader of the Servant of the People party Elena Shulyan said on Sunday.

"Parliament has voted for several important ratifications, including for a bill on the country’s withdrawal from the agreement on the perpetuation of the memory about the heroism of the peoples of the CIS member states during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

Apart from that, the Rada passed laws on the withdrawal of the agreement on the CIS common agrarian market and on the withdrawal from the CIS agreement on combating illegal migration.

The Verkhovna Rada has also denounced the Ukrainian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on avoiding double taxation and preventing tax evasion. The country’ss government took a decision to withdraw from this agreement on April 29.
