ST. PETERSBURG, June 16. /TASS/: Both strings of Nord Stream 2 are under pressure and gas can be delivered to Germany even now, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said during his speech at SPIEF 2022.
"We were asked to build it, huge sums of money were invested, and when everything was built, you know Nord Stream 2 - two strings are under pressure and gas can be delivered via Nord Stream 2 to Germany today. It has not been launched, because that is not certified. The question that arises is how can one be trusted when it comes to investments in large projects," he said.
Meanwhile, the capacities of one string of Nord Stream 2 have been readjusted to gas supply to the North-West of Russia due to pipeline downtime, Miller added.
"For the time being, we have readjusted the capacities of one string of Nord Stream 2 for the needs of gas supply in the North-Western Federal District," he said.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum organized by the Roscongress Foundation is running from June 15 to 18. This year’s forum is dubbed: ‘New Opportunities in a New World’.
