Kanpur: Strangely enough rats are damaging the Khapra Mohal bridge here. According to PWD officials, this bridge is getting washed away due to rats. It is situated near Central railway station, where huge rats are causing heavy damage to this bridge by gnawing on it.
The Khapra Mohal bridge built on the Cantt station site remains in the discussion because the bridge has been eaten by the rats. The bridge collapsed as soon as it rained.
There has been a stir due to the sudden collapse of a part of the bridge. Thousands of people move daily through this bridge.
This bridge has been damaged for the second time in a year. There is a pit about 2 meters wide and 3 meters deep here.
The maintenance responsibility of this bridge rests with the PWD department.
This bridge connects Mall Road with the Central Station. Thousands of people go towards Mall Road and Shuklaganj through this bridge.
The PWD officials reportedly say that this bridge is sinking due to heavy rats. They also are upset about this phenomenon.
The soil and ash filled in the bridge are being taken out by rats to make holes. Fed up with rats, the PWD department has now written a letter to the municipal corporation.
In this letter, it has been said to remove the encroachment and dirt under the bridge. PWD is trying to get rid of the terror of rats by laying an iron net here.
