Kanpur: Metro operation began as usual at 6 in the morning. At around 7:30 a.m., the metro train stopped at Geeta Nagar station.
Despite attempts to start the engine again it was not starting to run again. Due to this, other trains coming from behind also had to stop at different stations.
There was a problem with the wiring inside the train, as was reportedly said.
Attempts were made to rectify the problem on the spot but the engineers could not fix it at the station.
Afterwards, it was decided to take the train to IIT station so that the train operations could start properly.
After this, the train standing at Geeta Nagar station was pulled through another train and taken to IIT station.
This facilitated operation of all trains that could be normal. It took about half an hour.
According to Metro officials, during this period, the operation of trains continued on the route from IIT to Motijheel.
It did not become much more difficult owing to less number of passengers in the morning.
