Iraq not to be part of anti-Iran sanctions: PM

Baghdad, May 10, IRNA – Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said on Thursday that Iraq will never be part of the US anti-Iran sanctions.

In a meeting with the ambassadors of Germany, Britain and France, he reiterated that Baghdad will never be part of the US sanctions against the Iranian nation.

'Iraq favors good relations with all its neighbors and Arab, region and international states, including the US and Iran,' he said.

Iraq’s ties contributes to regional stability and security, he went on to say.

He also called for efforts to strengthen regional security and curb the crises faced by the region and safeguard the nations from insecurity and instability.

The European ambassadors also stressed their common views with Iraq over regional crises and called for curbing them.
