Tehran, IRNA, 27 February 2024 – The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has said that US President Joe Biden’s administration is responsible for the death of an American airman who set himself on fire.

Through self-immolation, Aaron Bushnell protested against Washington’s support for Tel Aviv’s genocidal measures in Gaza, Hamas said in a statement on Tuesday cited by Palestinian news agency Samaa.

The statement added that the move which led to the death of the young US air force member is an indication of growing anger of the American people at their country’s policy and stance on contributing to destroy the defenseless Palestinians.

Bushnell, 25, set himself on fire in front of the Israeli regime’s embassy in Washington to protest against the genocide in Gaza and the US support for the genocidal acts. Then, he caught a live-stream video from his self-immolation and died in hospital due to severity of injuries.

Hamas, in its statement, expressed sympathy over Bushnell’s death, saying he defended human values and supported the oppressed Palestinian nation.
