Kanpur: The Central government's Ayushmaan Bharat Yojna helps the poor patients. The instance of one Rajabai opens our eyes. She was getting the treatment of brain TB at the Lala Lajpat Rai hospital here. But she was made to go to the nursing home as the hospital Ward aya suggested her to get better treatment at the nursing home.
According to the reports Rajabai, 75-year-old woman, r/o Bhedi Khurd of Jalaun had been admitted at the LLR Hospital's Medicine Ward 12 on bed no 8 for her treatment on May 26. Her samdhi Gyan Singh brought her for treatment. She was accompanied with her granddaughter Priyanka too.
When Gyan Singh returned to his village one Ward aya started tempting the old woman to go to some private nursing home for better treatment and care. Anyhow she agreed and even arranged her shifting to the city's RS Memorial Nursing Home at New Azad Nagar in Kalyanpur.
Gyan Singh came to the LLR Hospital on May 28 and learnt of Rajabai's shifting. He approached the nursing home for releasing his patient. He was asked to pay a bill amounting to Rs 24900.This led him to sell Rajabai's buffaloe in the village. Thereafter he paid the hefty bill for staying as many as 19 hours at the nursing home.
He again admitted Rajabai at LLR for the necessary treatment. He told the story to the CMS Dr Rita Gupta. Taking the matter seriously Prof RK Mauraya took no pains in issuing removal order of the aya. He also wrote the CMO to take strict action against the nursing home.
