Kanpur: The second lane of the COD bridge is not supposed to be ready by August 15. Despite the district administration's directives to the bridge construction company for completing the work up to Aug 15, there is no chance of completion as the engineers too don't see it possible.
The claim on the NH public works department engineers is that about 90% of work has been completed but the reality is that slab on two spots is still to be done in the second lane. Apart from this, there is work of road construction.
Based on as many as 165 pillars, the construction of this bridge has not seen swift progress in the work. That is why years have passed since it started the work.
NH PWD superintendent engineer S Usmani said the work would complete by August 30 in spite of the fact that much work has not been pending.
