Kanpur: Just at 1:25 in the afternoon on Tuesday the sunshine brought a smile on faces of the residents huddled behind the doors. It was not a brighter sunny day but the respite was surely there. They rushed to the open spots for getting some sun rays.
Being the last day of the year the residents thanked the Supreme Being for the "Dhoop." Though there was enough cold breeze, the comfort under the direct sunlight brings a different feeling. One said, " It was a big solace amid lower temperatures of the wintry season." On the road, in Jajmau area the people standing near the shops felt a sigh of relief in the heat of sunshine. They were overheard saying such warmth keeps the body fully comfortable. They prayed that the brightness of the sun should continue at least for a few hours.
" It was a sudden change in cloudy weather. We cannot understand the exact pace of the climatic conditions", said one bearded man waiting for the bus. Icy spell of weather has even forced the people to hang around but the shining sun creates confidence among them to greet the coming year of 2020 with enthusiasm, as the kids playing cricket stated gleefully.
