Palestine To Take Legal Actions Against Amazon Over Discrimination

 Amazon

RAMALLAH, Palestine, Feb 19 (NNN-WAFA) — Palestine declared, it will start legal actions against the U.S. company, Amazon, for its discriminatory policy, favouring Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Economy said, it will begin legal actions against the e-commerce company, over its discrimination policy that allows free shipping to Israeli settlements, but not to Palestinian communities.

In Nov, Amazon began providing free shipping service to Israeli settlements, in the occupied West Bank, for orders worth 49 U.S. dollars or more. However, Palestinians in the West Bank, with their addresses in Palestinian territories, need to pay for shipment.

According to the statement, a government committee of three Palestinian ministries, sent a legal notice to the company, calling on it to immediately retract the policy.
