KANPUR: It appears that the metro rail will run quite timely in the city areas. The work is going on fast and fresh construction technique is being applied by the engineers in lending a boost to the work on a completely new track for the daily ride.
As the news goes, a change in construction techniques have been brought into a priority for the project. The concourse slab will now be prepared in advance at the casting yard and later placed at the map's designated location. This will not only reduce the time but also safety concerns.
Priority corridor between K-IIT & Moti Jheel is given utmost importance in the first phase. As many as 35 piers or pillars and over 500 piles have been readied in a span of nearly three months.
The concourse slab constructed on sacrificial shutters was made of galvanised iron sheet. The sturdy sacrificial shutters were laid over the erected precast beams.
