KANPUR: Filth and dirty spots prevent one to move on the wider VIP Road even in the morning in Jajmau. The spacious road was so unclean as one cannot tolerate the worse sight. When important places are bereft of cleanliness, the condition of the city areas could be easily fathomed.
Lately, the city failed to secure a better place in ratings conducted under Swwacch Bharat Abhiyan. What to say of five-star rating it could not get a single star mark.
The team inspecting various areas did not find the sanitation in various localities up to the mark. The officials had also checked the arrangement made to collect door to door garbage. They found that the wet and the dry litters we're not segregated. It was clear that the situation remained not good. Though the Nagar Nigam presented the number of challans issued against the use of the polythene and also against not separating the wet and the dry litters.
However, the city mayor Pramila Pandey stated that attempts would be made to achieve a better rating from now. There was no dearth of sanitary officials at the corporation, adding that we would also discuss with the officials concerned about our flaws.
Strangely enough, the Nagar Swasthya Adhikari Dr Ajay Sankhwar expressed his ignorance of the ratings while Chief Nagar Health Officer Dr P Niranjan said that onus of the garbage collection did not come under her purview.
